About Canada-Uk Foundation

The need for constructive international dialogue is today more critical than ever, given the rapid pace of change in economies, technology, politics, and indeed in the fabric of society itself. With a 50 year history of promoting the exchange of knowledge between Canada and the UK, the Canada UK Foundation today finds itself in a unique position to facilitate this constructive international dialogue. By sharing the best of Canada, and the best of the UK, the Foundation plays a critical role in building bridges between nations…. bridges which ultimately lead to greater understanding, collaboration, and healthy thriving communities. Through programs such as Arctic Alive, The Canada UK Fellowship for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Academic awards and seed funding for innovation, we contribute to both UK and Canadian prosperity by building trust, connections and skills which contribute to the excellence of both nations. Arctic Alive is an educational giant floor map designed in partnership with The Royal Canadian Geographical Society. This is a free resource offered throughout the UK to teachers of Keystage 2 students. Arctic Alive is specifically aimed at Years 4-6 and allows schools to have a museum like experience at their school. Through this fun, experiential learning, we are also building understanding of the importance of the Canadian Arctic to the global climate. We believe this tool has enormous potential to reach people and we are actively seeking to expand this program.
