SUNDAY STEADINESS & TARGET PRACTICE (If you don’t have enough dummies, get creative with toys and anything else that your dog might find tempting)...
... ...Sit your dog up and throw dummies around him to all of the points of the clock. ⏰
This will test not only your dog’s steadiness, but also your dummy throwing accuracy (something that I know is lacking with many, including me it turns out! - Monty supervises my throwing excellently in this clip!🤭😁)

🎉NEW GUNDOG CHALLENGE🎉!!
1) Sit your dog up 2) Put 3 dummies out (a left, a right and a go back 3) Here’s the hard bit...send your dog for the ‘Go back’ dummy FIRST. ... 4) If they succeed set them up and retrieve the others as a reward
TAILOR IT TO YOUR DOG using the traffic light system (green= easiest, Amber= medium red= hardest)
🟢 = Just practice the ‘Go back’ on its own (one dummy) 🟠= Put just one dummy out to the side as well as the go back. Use the opposite hand and step to where the left or right dummy is to send them back. 🔴= Put all three dummies out. I made it harder for Flick by putting the ‘Go back out first’. If your dog consistently picks the wrong one, try throwing the “Go back’ as the last dummy.

No boring washing done today......just fun with the dog!!
I taught Flicker this (what seems like a) pointless trick when she was younger and in season.
Yes there may not be any practical use to this exercise, but it did allow me to keep Flicker stimulated and content when she couldn't go out...in my mind that makes it an entirely useful exercise.... It also teaches her to think about her positioning and balance, using core muscles to sit within the basket.
During these tricky times, think outside the box and teach your dog new things to help keep them physically and mentally active, however 'pointless' it may seem. If it's stimulating for the dog (and not causing them any harm) then it's definitely not pointless.

**COVID-19 UPDATE - ALL TRAINING CANCELLED**
Following the government announcement made this evening that all non-essential businesses must close, I am sadly cancelling all training as of now.
Although this is frustrating for us all, I think we can all entirely understand and support the reason for the current rules enforced by the government at this complicated time.
... Updated emails have been sent to anyone booked on courses or 1:1s from tomorrow.
I will post regular training exercises, games and challenges so there won't be any chance of you or your dogs getting bored!
