I have just seen this posted on a dog training group I’m part of. If this is the advice people are dishing out nowadays, the world needs to stop turning so I can get off!
People who call themselves ‘professional’ charge actual money for this kind of dangerous ridiculous unrealistic advice and sadly people, not knowing any better, go along with it.

Jak is possibly one of the most complex dudes I’ve ever met and extremely reactive ... to everything!! Cars, bikes, people, small children, dogs, cats - you name it!
He’s only 10 months old and his owner has spent literally thousands of £££ on training for him to no avail. It sounds like some of it has perhaps made him worse.
... Recently his stress levels have become so intense he’s started shadow chasing. This is a form of OCD in dogs and they will do anything to create their own shadows to chase. It’s very distressing to watch and he was losing a lot of weight. A mixture of extemely high anxiety levels and his owner not being able to walk him left him in a bit of a mess.
Not anymore!! This is session 2. Today we walked nearly two miles with Jak. We walked passed everything he doesn’t like multiple times and he coped! He didn’t lose the plot and occasionally forgot himself and started to enjoy a sniff or two.
With the help of a prong collar and a weighted back-pack we were able to redirect Jak’s energy and calm him down. He’s also calmer in the house and his shadow chasing has reduced!! Soooo excited to see how far this guy goes! 🙌

They might be small, but their personalities are mighty, particularly Sol! The before bit of the video is tame compared to what we saw 2 minutes after I stopped filming. He mistook himself for a rabid Rottweiler.... 🤦‍♀️
They were 100% in control of their walk meaning taking them out was becoming a nightmare! Their lovely owner was going out earlier and earlier each day to try and avoid people w...ith dogs.
The after video is only a short time after introducing them to Nhala. They have a way to go but the progress so far is brilliant!

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone and how many wonderful people and dogs I’ve worked with. Being self-employed is bloomin’ hard work but every single one of you has made it more than worth it!

Milo is a very nervous boy who’s anxious reaction to other dogs can leave you deaf at times!
He screams and scrambles and frankly sounds like someone’s trying to murder him. On a harness, all of this was hard to control and the ability to pull only exacerbated his arousal levels.
We’ve been working on a calm follower mind set, in a nice relaxed heel and today we introduced him to Nhala 🤩
... Amazing progress! So lovely to see Milo finally being able to relax and enjoy his walks a little. 🙌
