As always a brilliant few days spent teaching the tracking course with @wild_human_bushcraft last weekend. We found plenty of cool stuff including mink tracks, side trotting fox, rat tracks & trotting voles to name a few, including all the usual suspects red deer etc.
Here we are on our coastal day discussing otter tracks, gait and track patterns, followed by Will’s skull talk and some cat tracks. Thanks to all those who joined and here’s to next year!

Spent the weekend in the Pitt Rivers Museum in oxford. What a place! This model of New England style Birch Bark canoe caught my eye, as the lines are very similar to the Atkinson Traveller that we make. There’s not much to invent with canoes - the old designs have proven their worth.

@canvas_canoes spent all Sunday evening reading trip reports and watching documentaries for Wabakimi provincial park in Ontario, Canada 😍 We have been dreaming up this trip for a few years, and we’re not sure we can hold it at bay any longer!
We’re planning a month on the water, pushing the trip as late into the season as possible to try best to avoid the bugs, for the sake of our two year old.
... The evenings will be slightly cooler so it gives us a great excuse to take our stove ☺️

We are unbelievably excited at the prospect of spending a month in the woods 🌲 our only regret is that we can’t take our own #woodandcanvas canoes.
