Captive Baits

Paul Ashford with this stunning dark common caught from Pine last week. Paul managed to squeeze in a couple of hours after work, using our The Scent pop ups with a few of The Scent freebies around it doing the trick. The bait has quickly established itself now in Pine with regular bites for the lads during short trips. I'm sure they'll be a fair few more caught over the next few months with The Scent being an all year round food source.

Well what an awesome session Matt Waters has had over at dream lakes. Matt, fishing lake 3 by far out caught anybody else fishing there. The lake, which is usually dominated by a major brand of boilies was seeing The Scent for the very first time. Matt using our The Scent hard hookbaits baited up heavily throughout the day and gave the swim a 10 hour rest every day, only putting the rods out after tea and bringing them in before breakfast. The bites became more frequent as the week progressed and the fish quickly recognised The Scent as a quality food source. Matt finished with x6 20s, x8 30s, x2 40s and a clonking great 53lb common. Well done Matt, this bait will produce anywhere as proved in the four months since we've been using it.

Another few for Duane yesterday during a short 4 hour morning session. The pulling power of The Scent evident again and again. The Pine fish are really picking The Scent out now it's been going in for a couple of months. Great work Duane

More cracking old fish which have fallen foul to The Scent over on Pine pool. A single Scent pop up cast to showing fish once again caused an instant response and a few fish in the net for Duane who since using the bait has caught far more consistently.

3rd place overall in the Midlands carp cup for Captive BAITS owners Ben Holland & Simon Gallier. Ben had to begin the match on his own as Simon had family commitments to attend for the first 24 hours, but he didn't let that effect him as just two hours into the match he had landed three fish up to 27lb 8oz. Ben loaded a PVA stocking with crushed The Scent boilies and mounted a trimmed down The Scent bottom bait onto the hair, this was cast tight to the far margin. Unfortunately that quick spell of action at the beginning was to be the last as the pressure of 48 lines in the relatively small lake meant it was a tough match. The lads managed to hang onto a very respectable 3rd position which is excellent considering this year's midland carp cup is their first ever competition.

Another cracking 20 for Dwayne today, again on Pine and again caught on one of our 'The Scent' pop ups.

Another successful day on pine for The Scent user Dwayne as he has landed three lovely scaleys. All fish falling to our Scent pop ups surrounded by a scattering of The Scent chopped bottom baits.

A few cracking fish for Dan Shaw this weekend at a couple of the lakes at Kingsbury Water park. Dan used The Scent pop ups soaked in our salmon oil to trick these stunning old fish. Good angling Dan.

**Another Captive BAITS 30**
This fish is certainly a fan of the Scent as only ten weeks ago co owner Ben Holland caught it at 35+ on the baits first ever outing. This time it was Simon Gallier who this morning slipped the net under this cracking old warrior at a spawned out 30lb 12oz. Simon spread 5kg of the Scent over a large area last night and presented a Scent pop up on a chod rig over the top. The fish as clearly visible in the photograph had been eating the bait as the highly digestible food source filled the weigh sling. The bait is certainly picking out the better fish.

Nice 20+ common for Dwayne, it was his first time using the Scent and after a quiet first few hours we dropped Dwayne his first 5kg to use & incredibly after only ten minutes of casting a bottom bait out the rod ripped off resulting in this lovely common with an unusual tail which Dwayne has now named 'odd tail'. Nice result, hopefully more to come from The Scent!!

Another successful night for The Scent last weekend with owner Ben Holland landing the two biggest fish in the lake, both spawned out at 33.08 & 32.12 along with a upper double common. Ben used our own Scent pop ups soaked in our salmon oil on stiff hinge rigs and baited with a large spread of Scent bottom baits at 30 yards range. The bait continues to go from strength to strength as the results show.

Ben Holland had a great days fishing on canal pool last Sunday, with 10 runs, landing 9 cracking carp to 28.10 which included 3 other 20s. The Scent pop ups fished over large quantities of The Scent freebies in light weed did the trick as Ben had consistent bites throughout his 10 hour session.
... On Tuesday Simon Gallier fished the day on Pine pool landing 8 stunning fish to 28.12. Simon used glugged The Scent bottom baits over a large bed of chopped The Scent boilies in clear spots in the margin.

Co owner Ben Holland had five takes before lunchtime at Pine, landing four of them, again spreading 4kg of The Scent along a reed bed. Ben presented a cork dust The scent pop up tied to a size 4 long shank hook tight to the reeds. There were some stunning looking fish amongst them.

More success for "The Scent" over the weekend at Kingsbury, Jack Pitchford landing five fish to 20lb spreading large quantities of The scent and fishing matching pop ups over the top.

Co owner of Captive BAITS, Ben Holland with another stunning common. This one pulled the needle round to 23lb 12oz caught on a Scent pop up only a few feet from the bank. Testing is ongoing but the results so far are very encouraging.
