Today is #WorldLionDay
Guarding our temples, adorning our flags, decorating our coins and capturing our hearts, the lion is beyond doubt the world’s most iconic species. On almost every continent, and in thousands of cultures, the lion can be found demonstrating man’s fascination with this magnificent beast.
Despite the lions’ symbolic importance throughout the ages, today they are suffering from a silent extinction across Africa and India. Knowledge of the King of Beasts’ ...plight is little known.
World Lion Day is the first global campaign to celebrate the importance of the lion worldwide. Since the dawn of man the lion has played an integral role in our lives: symbolically, religiously, culturally, economically and biologically. To lose the lion from our world would be to lose part of our global heritage.
Wherever you may be, join www.worldlionday.com today to celebrate the lion, create much needed conservation awareness and help us save the King of Beasts and his kingdom.

Friday, July 29th, is International Tiger Day, an annual worldwide celebration of tigers! While we celebrate the world’s largest cat, International Tiger Day is also a day to raise awareness of the urgent plight of tigers. Tigers once roamed the entire continent of Asia, but with human expansion they have lost over 93% of their original range. They now survive in small, isolated pockets of forest, where they are vulnerable to poaching and inbreeding. Out of the six existing... tiger subspecies, four subspecies have been classified as Endangered by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), while the other two subspecies have been listed as Critically Endangered. Poaching, habitat loss and habitat degradation are causing global tiger populations to plummet. Today, there are only an estimated 3,000-3,900 tigers remaining worldwide.

If landscapes are your bag, imagine nothing but wild, rugged nature with not a paved road in sight and the Al Hajar mountain range in #Oman should tick all your boxes. #MondayBlues Alila Jabal Akhdar
