Caralot (Permanently Closed)

Literally the worst car company I have ever dealt with, have a read of the derby telegraph 77 trading standards complaints.. tells you all you need to know.

Not impressed I bought a Mercedes SLK 350 Amg earlier in this year it started putting the engine management light on I was advised by the after sales to take it to a local repair shop to see what was needed. The after sales agreed with the garage to replace an induction part that was to be orders from the USA. They agreed with the garage to do the work and they would pay the cost about £250.
The garage have done the job and have tried a number of times to contact aftersales even leaving messages but have not heard or received any acknowledgment from Caralot.
I myself have tried and not had any response this has made it very akward for me with the garage now wanting me to pay the bill.
After I bought a £7.5 k car I don't exspect to be treated like this over just £250.
As of this moment I'm still trying to get some contact with Caralot.
This was a pleasurable buying experience that has been tarnished by poor aftersales .
Shame that Catalot are willing to get a bad reputation over such a little amount.

consider this as 2 x 5star reviews as both me and my other half have recently purchased cars from the great guys at Caralot.. they came highly recommended by a friend and she wasn't wrong.. second to none customer service.. 2 fantastic cars drove away in immaculate condition. we are both extremely happy with our Audi A3 TDI and my little pocket rocket Honda CR-Z. would recommend to others and will be back again when its time for a change! great service guys! :)

Me and my partner have just bought a car from here, we had a great experience! We found it the most helpful place we've tried, we particularly liked the fact that the deposit was refundable if it hadn't of worked out. Duncan was brilliant and really went out his way to help us find the right car for us and was amazing from start to finish, fantastic people and service I would recommend this place to anyone can't express how helpful they've been!

Having previously purchased numerous used cars I can say without any doubt that Caralot were a breath of fresh air who made our used car purchase an easy, professional, relaxed and all round enjoyable experience from start to finish.

On our initial visit to their site we dealt with Jamie, one of the owners of the business, a very likeable gentleman who listened to our requirements and advised us on what cars he thought would suit our budget and circumstances. This in it self was something we found very refreshing, as we felt we had been steered more towards what suited the dealership at the sites we had visited in the past.

After test driving a few of the well presented cars that me and my wife had selected, we decided we would like to go away to discuss our options further. This request was met very respectfully and at no point did we meet any resistance or feel under pressure to make a decision even though we had been with Jamie for a considerable amount of time. Instead we were told to go away, consider our options and not to hesitate to get in touch should we have any queries or concerns.

Having decided that the Honda CR-V we had test driven was the car that we liked the most we returned to Caralot to potentially finalise our purchase. Jamie wasn't on-site that day so we dealt with Duncan who we also found to be a relaxed and likeable chap. He advised us to have another drive of the vehicle to ensure we were completely satisfied. Upon our return Duncan left us to visual inspect the vehicle which we found to be in excellent condition and had been prepared to an exceptionally high standard. Having taken in to account the quality of the car and the care and service we had received we decided to purchase the vehicle, this however was dependent on the offer we would receive on our part exchange vehicle. Much to our delight Caralot offered us £200 more than we had been offered at other dealerships we had visited, so this made our decision a very easy one.

Me and my wife would just like to again thank the aforementioned staff at Caralot and all of their other staff who were involved in the preparation and sale of our car. We are extremely happy with it, and will look forward to visiting you in a few years time when it's time for us to upgrade.

I would highly recommend anybody looking for a used car to give Caralot a visit.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish.
Jamie and the team were professional, honest and friendly.
My train was delayed so Iain gave me a lift from Derby station to the dealership - we arrived about 19:05... after they are due to close! I was made to feel welcome (despite my keeping them late!)
All in all, over the moon with the service and, above all, my new car! Cleaned in and out, new MOT and drives like a dream. Can't thank the team enough!
