Have you ever thought about what sort of health services might be available to #refugee women? On #WorldRefugeeDay we want to share Halima's story with you and how she was supported to make the choices she and her family needed.
Hamila is a young refugee from Myanmar. She lives in Cox’s Bazar refugee camp in Bangladesh with her husband and three children. Like many women in the camp, Halima was nervous about family planning especially as there are many sensitivities cultural...ly around the subject. Halima and her husband did not want to have any more children.
Thanks to the maternal and reproductive health services provided by CARE, supported by GSK, Halima was able to make the choices she needed to for the coming three years with the support of her husband.

Meet Abondance, the Congolese woman who envisions a future in DR Congo without barriers for those with disabilities.
'Just because I have certain limitations, it does not mean that my life has ended.' Abondance lives by these words: she designs clothes and jewellery, crafts, and plays basketball at a local stadium where CARE provides physical activities for people with disabilities. She lights up when talking about her many plans for the future: attending university, and writing an educational film with the message that girls with disabilities can achieve their dreams.
