Carers Forum

About Carers Forum

Do you care for some one who has a mental health problem, has a physical or sensory disability has a learning disability or is an older person?

Carers Forum is for all carers in the Borough of Rotherham. Carers do not always recognise themselves as carers but my own definition of a carer is do you do something for some one who cannot do it for themselves.
Some carers may do some shopping for some one or they could be looking after some one 24 /7. Caring can be exhausting and most carers benifit from the information and support they can recieve from Carers Forum.

I carered for my husband for 10 years with a brain tumour and dementia so i understand how difficult it can be. A carer may have to give up work and often manage on a reduced income.

As a group we can help you have a benifit check or see if you are recieving all the services you need. We have a coffee morning every Wednesday in the Carers Corner in 2 Drummond Street (opposite the bus station and across the road from Rotherham Library.

Carers Forum holds meetings on the first Wednesday of the month 12-2pm and all are welcome. We can also access free training and carers have used this service and it is shaped by carers needs.

Some carers just need to call in The Carers Corner for a cup of tea or coffee and just talk to other carers.
