About Carla International

Community Access to Rights and Livelihood Activities

Carla International Description

CARLA is an internationally recognised organisation providing sustainable social development services for the assistance of marginalised communities. We are committed to making a serious and sustainable impact on poverty, global inequality and injustice, and work with development partners around the world to advocate human wellbeing through the promotion of community access to rights and livelihood activities.

CARLA International is part of a network of over 250 professionals with expertise in areas that include social development, livelihood strategies, human rights and wellbeing, extending across the development community worldwide. We are currently involved in a number of projects internationally, from the provision of water and sanitation, working with local communities in the development of culturally sensitive sustainable livelihood strategies, and advocacy of the rights of the marginalised or otherwise disenfranchised traditional communities.

CARLA International is offering the opportunity to volunteer in projects that provide sustainable development assistance to marginalised communities, as part of a practical training in development. Our projects are based on a social development approach, that involves helping individuals and communities to pursue ecologically sound and sustainable livelihood activities, in order that they can sustainably bring themselves out of poverty.

Aim “To develop the skills and knowledge needed to design and implement an appropriate development response to issues concerning poverty in least developed countries. ”
