About Carla Lane Animals In Need Liverpool

We are an Animal Rescue Centre based Melling, Liverpool. We Rescue Rehabilitate and Rehome Dogs, Cats and other animals.

Carla Lane Animals In Need Liverpool Description

We are Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool a rescue of over 40 years, We Rescue Rehabilitate and Rehome dogs, cats and other animals. We promote responsible pet ownership vaccinating, microchipping and neutering all of our animals. We have a no destruction policy. We take animals from homes that are needing to be rehomed but the majority of our dogs are from stray dog pounds where they have served there 7 days as an unclaimed stray, and are now due to be destroyed. We believe that all animals are equal and no animal or breed is discriminated against. We LOVE bullbreeds and encourage dog lovers to give a rescue bullbreed a chance, there is a perfect rescue dog out there for everyone. Each one comes with there own love, personality and wiseness, not to be matched.

REHOMING POLICY: the majority of our dogs coming from stray dog pounds they are unable to be rehomed with children under 10 as we have no history on them. Our insurance policy does not allow us to rehome any dog with children under 5. We also assess each of our dogs and give them a colour code based upon the results of the assessment. Our colour codes are Green, Amber and Red. Green dogs have shown no abnormalities. Amber dogs have slight abnormalities and Red dogs have severe abnormalities and are not currently up for rehoming, they will have intense training and socialization plans until they can be reassessed and downgraded. Each dog that leaves the sanctuary has individual recommendations based upon the assessment and based upon the new owners family unit and circumstances.

As ever, we love to hear all your news about the dogs and cats you adopt from us. If they have their own album the update will go in there, otherwise they will all go in here.

Facebook Lady here. I know I have made several posts recently explaining why Facebook service is a bit slow. Well I have hit another glitch today and Facebook messages are no longer visible on the computer. When you click on the inbox the page just goes blank. However they are perfectly visible on my phone so I will still be answering them, I will just be a bit slower and I can't copy links off my phone for you. Hopefully Facebook will resolve this in the next 24 hours as it ...is very frustrating. We know it is them and not us because it did the same on the office computer. Snoopy my foster kitten now appears to be out of danger so I had the joy today of covering in the office whilst Snoopy enjoyed camping out on the desk. He says thanks for all your good wishes and he could hear everyone cooing over him today! It was lovely to be back in the Sanctuary as I have not been for 2 weeks. Snoopy now weighs 6 3/4 ounces, is 3 weeks and one day old, and has finished his antibiotics and the vet is pleased with his progress. Tracey x

Today I have been chosen to read the news. My name is Matilda. I am very sad and unsettled in kennels. I am about 18 months old. I enjoy lots of attention and cuddles but may need time to get to know you as I am so timid especially around men. I am easily won around with a tasty treat but do need time to approach you first. Once on a walk my tail comes up and I behave wonderfully on my lead. I hope I can find the loving patient home I deserve. I had a visitor today and I beha...ved well with their dog but I was just too nervous with their child so possibly a child free home would be best for me. I missed out on a lovely home today. but what will be will bešŸ’œ And now for the last 2 days news. I might not have been lucky but several others certainly have! Yesterday Monty and Red were adopted. Today it was Leon and Ben's turn! Also Kitty the cat and Winston the Guinea Pig. Hopefully it will be my turn soon. Do come and see me . Love Matilda xxx

We are desperate for homes, our lovely dogs deserve to spend their days happy with their forever families instead of stuck in kennels. We love them but we know you would love them even more! Without your help offering homes to the dogs we have in kennels we canā€™t save more dogs who need a lifeline. Please come and see us any day between 1-4.30pm to see if your new best friend is here waiting patiently just for you!

User

NOTICE! We have our weekly dog training session today 1.00pm-3.00pm Please can you avoid visiting us between these times! This also applies to our lovely dog walkers! Thank you! It is a very valuable session for our dogs and all our dog staff attend.

A very big thank you from Fran Ellis our senior Trustee to all our amazing supporters who responded to our recent appeal for donations. The response has been wonderful and we have received lots of good things to sell to raise funds. It is very much appreciated and we would also be grateful for items like bikes, pushchairs and things like stamp albums, coins and vintage things. Also booze, chocs and biscuits for our raffles!

2.8.18 I started fostering Kiri and her 3 kittens on 21st July. Unfortunately Kiri developed mastitis and has to be rushed to the vets the next day, leaving me hand rearing 3 kittens who needed feeding every 2 hours. This is what Margaret, Judy, Kate & Carol have to deal with all too regularly, but it was a new experience for me with kittens that were only 5 days old. Sadly on the Tuesday whilst visiting the vet with them we lost Russell and tiny Rascal passed away the next d...ay. Sadly they were suffering from cat flu. When I posted last week to explain that Facebook service wouldn't be up to scratch, you did ask me for updates. Well mum is doing really well, mastitis all gone (and all her milk too!), but she still has a very sore eye that is receiving treatment. Snoopy (named after my dog Snoopy as he shares his birthday - 17th July) appears to be a little fighter. He is feeding very well, developing his lungs and becoming very mobile and yesterday I did notice his tail was wagging! He has me wrapped around his paws and is still being fed every 2 hours right round the clock. He has finally started to put weight on and now at 2 weeks and 2 days weighs 4 1/4 ounces. He is still only small and frail so we aren't out of the woods yet, but I feel he has a better than 50% chance after his last 24 hours. His eyes are fully open now. He is on antibiotics twice a day and wherever I go he goes, so he is now becoming a bit of a celebrity in Ormskirk as I take his little carrier out with me so I can supervise him all the time. No one is allowed to touch him and he is well wrapped up, but there has been a lot of peeping at him! I will continue to update you and thank you all for your patience whilst I am distracted from Facebook duties. I am going to put our link up if anyone wants to help towards the cats we save. Just to give you an inkling of costs (I have chosen to pay these myself, but it is not expected of fosterers to do so) this week alone I have spent: Vet 41.50 cat food 6 Kitten milk 7.50 Cat litter 5 Total Ā£60 So when we charge an adoption fee for a kitten, these are some of the things that it would contribute towards. We only charge our direct costs of Neuter, vaccinations, flea & worm treatment, microchipping and vet health check. All these expenses are on top! Your continued support is very much appreciated. https\://animalsinneed.charitycheckout.co .uk/CATS

We'd love you to come and join us at the CROSSFEST at the Cross House Inn in Formby. It's going to be a great fun day out for all. The staff and volunteers will be fundraising for us, so don't forget to throw in your loose change into our buckets.
There'll be an 8 class fun dog show to enter your dog into. 1st-4th place winners will receive a rosette and certificate and all 1st place winners will be entered into the Best In Show class.
All the funds raised will help towards ...our Brighter Lives Kennel Appeal to help us renovate our 20yr old kennels.
Jacqui, Jill and the team will be manning the stalls, running the tombola, raffle and the bric-a-brac stalls.
The FUN starts at 1pm! We look forward to seeing you all.

You allowed us to rescue Rex (was Barney) last week. Heā€™s still nervous in new situations but had settled in really well. He loves his walks and has already met his new pack. Thank you for letting us have him. Beth x

The fabulous Denver came out with us today to Ormskirk to help us with out fund raising day. He was perfect from beginning to end. He was fussed by lots of children and given lots of treats. Today he has enjoyed, cheeseburger, sausage, pie and gravybones! And that was before we took him to the pub for his lunch, where he enjoyed a portion of Scott's finest chipolatas! He was so fab today and deserves the best home. You wouldn't even know you had him on the end of the lead. He looked his happiest on the 2 occasions where he saw another greyhound! Denver is only 2 years old and has come across from Ireland for the chance of a new life and he most certainly deserves it.

I feel only Carla Lane will understand how proud me and Neil are of our girl, and I know you guys will feel the exact same. So our little dog aggressive Tink has just been out on a walk with Neil, and she spotted a spaniel. As always we informed the owner she is aggressive and to not let the dog come over. Well, Neil told the owner and he responds "mate you've told me before, but look at her wagging her tail." And he walked upto Tink with his dog, and instead of the usual barking, pulling and growling Tink actually played with the spanielšŸ˜. She was so excited. Lots of healthy treats and praise for our girlā¤ā¤ā¤. Nicola x

Phoned on Monday the day after they had potential new owners for our dog despite all those other dogs they had in care at the time. Couldn't of chosen a nicer family for us to send him to. Staff really friendly and understanding. Highly recommended.

Our beautiful Staffie Molly (12 yrs) had passed away and our hearts had broken.... we spotted Pepsi (now Milly) on the Carla Lane website and she looked just perfect for us. I messaged Carla Lane asking for a visit...they got back straightaway and arranged a visit for that day. I explained our recent loss and they where genuinely sympathetic and understanding. We arrived at the rescue centre and were met by friendly staff who asked some details before showing me through to a visiting room.... Pepsi (now Milly ) was brought in.... i fell in love immediately such a friendly little staffie. Carla Lane dealt with the adoption swiftly and efficiently and made the process very easy. Thankyou guys xx

My first visit to Carla Lane this morning, to view some dogs. What a lovely, caring rescue. The dogs are clearly at the epi-centre of all they do. The premises might be ageing but that is more than made up for by the love of the people for the animals. Kennels are roomy and very clean and there are great outdoor play areas for socialisation. Well done to all of you!

Many thanks to Carla Lane (Animals in need) kennels for boarding Buddy over Christmas. Buddy has only recently been adopted by us and we felt the best thing to do would be to board him over the Christmas period. Itā€™s a caring organisation that puts the animal first. The kennels were clean and bright. Kellie gave me regular updates to put my mind at best.

Thank you CLAIN and thank you Kellie.
