This is my first collagraph workshop of the year. It’s an exploration of different kinds of materials to create texture. Cut my finger while framing. Tiny cut ... inconsequential... and yet this is my second dressing which is just getting soaked in blood. Grrrrr! No plasters either in my first aid kit. Or rather the ones I have are huge.

Eight years ago, EIGHT, I read this book. I was in a bad place creatively and on the point of giving up my dream. I confess I didn’t finish it but it did help me to recognise that my inner critic was a massive blockage to progress. I thought I’d lost the book until I stumbled on it the other day. I took it as a sign it was time to have another go and see what I could achieve this time round. What about you? Who else has done/is doing this?
