After taking my five children to the fair who thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it!! I found the wristbands to be of excellent value For money.the food was lovely and the children were spoilt for choice at the candy stall.I found all the staff polite and very helpful especially as I have a disabled child.I will be returning on Friday the 9th of June as the wristbands then will only be 3:99 per child.yet again remarkable value for money.thank-you carousel fanfare x

I came on Fri with 6 kiddy 's was happy when I went to pay and the bands had been reduced but after buying realised why was pretty disappointed as there was only 2 rides my older kiddy 's actually wanted to go we came the week before any they enjoyed all the bigger rides wish I was told while buying the bands

User

Heard it was massive hence the reason it isn't at plattfields this year. Travelled down with my son. Quite disappointed for the money paid. Need more family rides

User

Last day of the summer holiday with my daughter and took her to Manchester Heaton Park for the fair. Got a wrist band only to find that some of the rides have already packed up 2 days before the official end date. Then despite the shocking marketing on the posters found that some rides were excluded which I can live with but then again the posters also say any age, any size and for those who know me and my little girl she's not the shortest for her age and she's now been told she's too small for the bumper cars and another ride what a total rip off not worth the money I paid and the people running the rides are rude and have upset my daughter.

1 Year on.... 2017 I get a response from Carousel Funfairs see below. A little difficult to make out what they are trying to say but seemingly access to comment back has been removed interested...

So if you won't allow me to comment back I'll extend on the review thank you.

First of all responding 1 year on is a little shocking.

The advertisement at the time actually said no height restrictions only to find there were. Granted I take the point on health and safety but make this clear don't be rude about it to a 6 year old.

I purchased a wrist band in order for value for money as many of the rides had packed up and of course this is how you position it as a saving right? Don't come back a year later commenting about buying tokens again I'm not stupid and understand the cost difference. It doesn't matter how many rides my daughter went on with the wrist band again that is the whole point in purchasing one right? But there is only so many time my daughter wanted to go on the same ride. Poor advertising or should I say miss selling in some cases here.

You mentioned the water attractions again coming back to my original review I actually said that some rides being excluded I understood but it seems like you want to point this out as if I've missed something? Nope wrong again if you want me to continue and share with you a picture of the advertising around the park I would be happy to do so both public or privately but maybe you should stop trying to silence the negatives to your attraction as this could of been managed privately if you wished.

Thanks for your comments all be it a year late. Speak again next year пҝҪ

What an absolute disgrace to advertise that it's running until the 3rd September and yet today all the decking was being packed up leaving much of the floor dangerous to anyone who is a little unstable on their feet and several rides had disappeared, I feel like it would have been cheaper for us to have gotten tokens than wristbands with how few rides were there today

User

Today, March 27th 2017 myself & 3 friends decided to take a trip to your Easter funfair based in Platt Fields Manchester

Given that we attend every single funfair in PlattFields every year, I am absolutely disgusted at the behaviour of your security staff on the main entrance

As one of my friends attending isn't keen on rides and prefers to try their luck in winning prizes , we arrived to the gate under the impression that you could have a look around the site and then decide which rides to go on . We were refused entry because the security guard said 'you have to buy your tokens here and now' to which I replied 'well there's 3 different token options so we'd like to have a look before we decide which to buy and this one (my friend) usually holds the coats. He rudely said 'you either buy your tokens now or you don't get past us' . Absolutely disgusting!!!

A family of 5 directly behind us were quick to also speak up that they'd taken their kids and had no interest in going on any rides as it's for their kids . The same words were repeated by the guard in which we all decided to leave . Given you charge ВЈ8.99 per wristband then an upgrade to the bigger rides , you've just lost out on approximately ВЈ70 in tokens alone . I understand people also spend a fortune at these things with food and prize stalls so can you deem this behaviour as tolerable ?

Any other funfair that offers 'unlimited rides' also gives people the option of walking around without purchasing there and then to decide which offer is best . Can you tell me what makes you so different & why exactly it states on your promotion posters 'FREE ENTRY' which are plastered everywhere in Manchester when it's clearly not according to the idiot security guard ?

I await your reply!

User

So we have just got back from the fair at Heaton park, and I have to say what an absolute rip off it is and I won't be going again or recommending anyone to go. Got there at 3.45 and bought the 2 for 1 wrist bands for a 3 year old and a nearly 3 year old child. Thinking it was a bargain and a good thing to do for awhile to keep them happy.

Firstly they couldn't go on half of the rides without an adult each despite asking the man in the box at the top of the hill before going who told us there was lots for their age group. So we had to buy tokens for us so the kids could go on, and the tokens cost ВЈ2.50 each.

2ndly half of the rides or activities wristbands arent valid for eg the water walkers boats high jumps etc, which of course the kids want to go on, so that's another ВЈ4 each for a silver token.

3rdly for 2 kids meals and 2 drinks that was another ВЈ14!!!

It's daylight robbery what your doing and in an hour and 15 minutes we spent ВЈ40!!!

If your advertising unlimited rides on the wristbands and have children's rides that have height restrictions at least allow the adult to go on for free and explain that not all rides aren't included to save parents the hassle of going in the first place. It's false advertisement.

User

I really cannot say what it was like however we are really annoyed. We went to Heaton Park today especially for the fair, OK the weather was a bit hit and miss so expected the beach area to be closed however the fair was closed. I had one very upset and disappointed little girl

User

I have worked as a ride supervisor at the Pleasure Beach and the safety at your fair on Whyndyke is a joke. Operators smoking and texting in the operator box, witnessed a young kid walk onto the Waltzer platform whilst the ride was in motion at full pelt (surely should have been e-stopped?!) It took at least 2 minutes of me shouting to one of the lads running the ride before they dragged the kid off the platform! Also one operator was just sat smoking a cigarette rudely shouting at people that her ride wasn't open (why wasn't it explained that the rides open on a rotational basis?). The man operating the Windseeker made some comment about the ride "being a pile of shit with shit maintenance"- very reassuring. The only nice member of staff was the lady serving cheese burgers in the kiosk. Oh and the lady selling wristbands was extremely rude and texting on her phone. She didn't even look up when we greeted her she just flung the wristbands at us and said "put these on".

Your company and website look so professional but the staff employed on the fair are anything but. I didn't sit through hours of extensive safety and customer service training to be treat with zero regard at your "family fun day out". I understand you are charging cheap prices but why is there no service? Really poor show...
