Another busy day but our Carriages are in need of some TLC. Ken Gaskin is valiantly painting the roof but ideally we need a team of volunteers and some expertise to keep the Carriages maintained. If you would be willing to give up some time to help with the maintenance of our Carriages or if you have some expertise then please get in touch #AlnvalleyRailway #HeritageRailways #TanfieldRailway

Fantastic Vintage Vehicle Day, there was a big turnout of cars and lots of spectators. Congratulations to the Heritage Centre and particularly Wesley Turnbull for all of their efforts.

We have just reached 1000 likes! Thanks to everyone who follows us and supports us. It is our sixth anniversary this weekend, call in and wish us "happy anniversary" to receive a voucher for a cream tea for one!

User

In the debate as to whether you should put jam or cream on a scone first we are definitely #jamfirst !

User

visited here whilst visiting family in Bellingham. soup and a sandwich great value. only downside no coffee cake but never mind what we had was lovely x better luck for the cake next time :)

User

We stumbled upon here by accident. But what a lovely surprise. Hubby and I both went for the soup (potato and leek) tasty and creamy without being rich. He opted for the cheese scone accompaniment and I the roll and croutons. With a pot of tea. Staff were friendly and informative. We were mesmerized by the birds on the feeders outside

User

We called here before we spend the day at Kielder Water birds of prey centre. So glad we checked the area out before we headed out and found this place. Our kids loved the idea of sitting in a train. It was soo quirky and different. Food was delicious! We even after our meal treat ourselves to a fruit scone, cream and jam. Which was amazing! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back as there were more cakes we wanted to try 😋

Superb Tearoom /Café next to the Heritage centre in Bellingham, Northumberland.

Converted from a former British Railways Electric Train and appropriately placed in the formation of the old Railway Station.

Good choice of food and drink at reasonable cost.

Original & quirky, took me back to train rides past. The food is absolutely delicious & very reasonably priced; we spent a lovely hour or so having afternoon tea. Also enjoyed watching all the birds feasting at the feeding station. Staff very friendly. Would highly recommend!

User

My dad always loved coming to the carriages for dinner and told tales of the enormous meringues he was served which he was convinced were bigger than anyone elses and that he had a hard time finishing them as it would have been rude not to (yet oddly this never seemed too much of a hardship for a meringue loving gentleman) . Thank you for catering both my mam and dads funerals you did and wonderful job on both occasions and would be happy to recommend your services to all xx

User

Met my sister there yesterday and enjoyed a gorgeous cream scone and coffee. A gorgeous little place with really lovely, friendly and patient (I was too busy chatting to look at the menu ) staff. I'll definitely be back and be recommending to friends 🖒

Everything freshly made and comfortable carriage seats made it memorable!
