Carringtons

Wide variety of beers but wouldn't call it a good selection. Can't comment on wines and spirits other than to say selection looked extensive.

After spending the best part of £40 was not permitted to put through an additional small purchase on a debit card which seemed odd.

Great service, great price... Just got a lovely bottle of vintage port for my dad's birthday, he's going to love it!!

The prices are ridiculous on German beers. A beer that cost €1.50 in Germany becomes £4.50? I agree there is a good selection of beers but the prices are sometimes just silly. Also the young lad that's worked there for years sounds like he knows his stuff on German beers. But if you have lived in the region where some of the beers are from, I'm bewildered how he comes up with some of his stories. They are fantastical to say the least.
If there was a good alternative to Carringtons, I would certainly investigate if not the opportunity of not being ripped off.

Knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, excellent selection of drinks

Finally got through on the phone to check if they supplied a certain drink. Opening hours from the website seem to be hit and miss as I tried to call over a couple of days when it stated they should be open but no answer - and I tried several occasions in case they were busy. I went when I said I would to collect the reserved item and they were shut. When I called later, the only response was they were open now - fine if I hadn't drove 14 miles round journey eariier.

Great service, even better if you have a little wine knowledge!
