Carry Me Kate Parenting Services Cic Description
Welcome to Carry Me Kate.
Carry Me Kate is a sling library, breastfeeding peer support, social meet and consultancy service for people wanting to try out different types of baby carriers in Somerset and Devon areas.
Meets are held in Bridgwater, Tiverton, Taunton, Minehead, Wellington and Williton.
We offer help and advice for people on safe sling use and have a library available so you can hire a carrier before you buy to ensure you find the carrier best suited to you as a carrier is very individual.
Join us for a coffee and chat, we often have ladies just come for a cup of tea and chance to talk to other mums. I am fully insured and have received appropriate training.

WHY USE A SLING
Carrying your child can help your child to thrive and has so many positive effects for both baby and parent /caregiver. It encourages bonding between parent and caregiver and helps to satisfy your babies needs for security and attachment which leads to greater confidence and independence later in life.
It can help the breastfeeding relationship but also works well for formula feeding mothers like myself. (Me and my son bond in the sling)
It helps to reduce crying and studies have proven this. A child just wants to feel secure and carrying them helps satisfy this need.
Hands free for playing with older children or doing housework.
Ease of use, for areas where prams can’t go or in busy areas using a sling can be much easier.
For a newborn being born into the world is a huge scary event, for 9 months they have heard your heartbeat and been carried and just want this to continue, they want to be near mum and be held, a sling helps you to do this.

Set up and ready to help at Cafe Mama Williton this morning 💜
This Friday is the first of our new groups! Bumps to 12 weeks at Trident in Taunton. Daisy and Sephi will be on hand to demo newborn babywearing and get you feeling like a pro. See our beautiful Jazz with baby George below 😍 The session is 1-3 to give everyone enough time to wake up, have a bite to eat and feel ready for the world. We will provide some baked goods plus a cuppa ❤️... Come see us if your pregnant and are new to babywearing or need a refresher, or if your baby is under 12weeks old. Would really recommend the sling meet and hiring. I tried one and my daughter didn't really get on with it so we went back and got so much advice and support. We've hired another and she seems much happier in this one. If it wasn't for this service I would have just given up on it so really grateful :).
The sling meet was amazing, felt so comfortable, nice to meet some mums. Love the sling, such a good price to hire! Really friendly helpful staff, can't wait to go back!

My son is 7.5 months old and I attended my very first sling meet this morning in Wellington. I was so impressed with the help and support I received and have come away with a brilliant Connecta which looking forward to using. I highly recommend this valuable service and what great care and attention that is given to Mums and babes to help with safe and comfortable baby wearing.
Kate has been very helpful, we are so pleased with our Fidella Fly Tai, we are looking to purchase one! Being able to rent before buying has been perfect to make sure we chose the right sling for us! Thank you Kate x
Kate has been fab at helping me carry my daughter in comfort and safely so easy to talk to and never judges anyone just wants you and your baby to be happy and feel the benefit of baby wearing which until I discovered carry me Kate I knew nothing!! Carry on with the excellent work your fab!!

I've hired 3 different slings from Carry Me Kate as my son has gotten older. The advice and service has been amazing and has saved me a fortune buying slings that would not have been beneficial long term. I've now purchased a sling that I know I love having trialed it and will last me until Parker is no longer being carried. I'm extremely grateful for the service. I will definitely continue to attend the meets for continued support and for the social aspect (and maybe to continue to feed my baby leg warmers habit)!
I went to my local mothercare event, Kate was FANTASTIC! So helpful and advised me on the best sling for a newborn plus helped me practice using it. A lovely lady that I instantly liked, great service to have, we're very lucky to have her in our area, thank you Kate xxx

I have met Kate a few times. Firstly I learnt how to use my stretchy wrap properly then i hired a baby carrier from her. Both times Kate has been really helpful and very supportive. I then went on to buy the same type of carrier that I rented from her (a connecta). My baby is always happy when awake in it but also has some good cuddly naps in it too! Thank you Kate, before having her I wasn't too sure on baby carrying but now I love it and so does Sophie!
I first met Kate when Carry Me Kate was just being set up and my first daughter was a few weeks old. This was my first real introduction to slings and I found it hugely helpful, everyone was so friendly and made us relaxed. From learning how to correctly put in my stretchy to then finding a buckle carrier that we loved as she got bigger - a type I could then buy with confidence. 18 months later I had my second daughter and wow have our carriers been important - juggling toddler and new born I don't know what I'd have done without. We were then planning a holiday with toddler and 6 month old touring around Italy. Back we went to Carry Me Kate this time for a toddler carrier. Again everyone was so helpful and fitted a sling to both my husband as he's v tall and my toddler. This was a game changer on holiday - no buggy to try and get through crowds, a toddler who walked when she wanted, got carried when she wanted and even happily napped in the sling whilst I just carried the 6 month old the whole time. I wasn't sure of the application of toddler carriers before - now again thanks to Carry Me Kate we will be in the market to buy one. So easy to have packed away ready for tired grumpy toddlers lol! Thank you so much x
Hi I just wanted to say I had a great consultation with Kizzy this week regarding a newborn sling. Kizzy was really helpful, friendly and very informative. Kizzy involved my little girl (who is two) in the consultation too which was really nice, Kizzy made my daughter her own little sling so she could carry her baby, it was so sweet. I'm definitely going to either hire or buy a sling when my new baby arrives because now I feel confident I can carry safely and I think it's gong to be great for bonding with my baby. Thank you so much!
Had my second consultation with carry me Kate this time with Gemma for my 8 month baby girl - so friendly and welcoming and of course great advice for slings! I have 2 now on loan and can't wait to use them ��
Had a consultation at my home this morning with Gemma, she was fantastic as was the whole service. She was able to fit me in short notice and came at a time to suit my family. The experience was relaxed but informative. From the selection of wraps/baby carriers that Gemma brought with her I was able to try them on with the doll (provided) to practise and then try again with my three week old baby and find one that suited me, my partner and our baby perfectly and I can't wait to use it! Thank you for an excellent service, I would definitely recommend Gemma and Carry me Kate.
Fantastic experience with Carry Me Kate. We had a consultation at home so my husband could be involved. Kate helped us find the perfect sling for us both which she clearly showed us how to use. She was so friendly and helpful I would 100% recommend to anyone. Having this sling has totally changed things for us, it's been used nearly every day for the 4 months we had it, be it going on day trips, walking the dog or doing the hoovering! Thanks Kate! X
