Carsington Water Club Site

About Carsington Water Club Site

We’ve spent over 100 years enjoying the great outdoors and we’re passionate about bringing likeminded people together. We believe it’s where the road takes you that matters. So load up, head out, unwind and enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

Carsington Water Club Site Description

Nestled within an attractive pine plantation, Carsington Water Caravan Club Site in Ashbourne is beautifully landscaped, with pitches in open clearings separated by trees. This gives the caravan park residents privacy and quiet which many appreciate during the busy summer months. Improvements to the toilet block and facilities, including a new drying room, were undertaken in recent years.

This beautiful site has renewed our faith in CC sites. Firstly, the site planners have done an awesome job with the layout; secondly (whilst the CC is becoming known for its overuse of gravel and hard core) there are lovely grassy areas and a woodland dog walk; thirdly, we received a warm welcome from the staff and they have been helpful throughout and really do keep the site and facilities neat and tidy; lastly, the sites location is great, near many NT properties and beautiful scenery and walks. Ten out ten CC. This is how to do it.

Stayed at this site for a week, and there is absolutely nothing negative to say about this site. Every member of staff was very friendly, the site itself was lovely and the toilet block spotless. The dog walk was superb! Being in the woods, we could let our girl off the lead for a good run, and the views of Carsington Water were beautiful. We'll be back if we're back in the Peak District.

Nicely kept, with friendly staff, in a beautiful area! Woodland site, refreshingly natural! Look forward to coming back

May be only an hour from home but got to be up there with the best sites on the network, the shower block is ultra modern and by far 110% the best the Caravan Club have to offer. Ideal location to visit the Peak District and surrounding areas, great for cycling, walking and generally chilling with a beer or three. It's a woodland site and is kept immaculate considering the amount of work it takes the wardens to show it at it's very best. Will be back next year for sure, how many times who knows.

Just spent 2 nights at this caravan and motorhome club site.

It was a lovely weekend, we arrived Friday afternoon to a very warm welcome from the warden, sorted the paperwork out with the lady in reception who said we could drive round in our motorhome and have a pitch of our choice.

Setup on pitch 6 under the pine trees overlooking the water, absolutely beautiful. Pizza van arrived on site 4:30-7:30, very nice. This site is spotless, along with the shower block and good facilities and comes highly recommended!

Brilliant well kept site in a really nice location, staff are friendly and helpful and look after the facilities very well , we wil certainly return again

The staff are friendly and helpful as ever have been coming here for 5 years but I think it's time for at least a TV booster system the signal is rubbish and you cannot use a dish for tree's I don't think too much to ask for the pine needles are dreadful as always but would put up with that as it was paid for 2 nights and left after 1 shame as areas as good as always

Great site, lovely clean facilities with a fantastic dog walk around the edges of the site.

Great site for cyclists: 9 mile route around Carsington Water from the site.

Wood fired pizza van onsite on Friday evenings (pizzas are delicious).

Great location for National Trust Visits: In particular Kedleston Hall, Ilam Park & Dovedale. Not to far from Bakewell (home of the Bakewell Tarts & Puddings) & Chatsworth.

The only downside to my visit was the female staff members in the office upon arrival, I arrived about 20 minutes before my parents who were towing the caravan (I had to travel down in a separate vehicle as I had to leave for work midway through our stay). I parked in the car park and went to the office to tell them my cars registration. (Only one vehicle is allowed on site per pitch so a record is kept of the cars to be kept in the car park). The lady in the office was rather rude & didn’t seem to understand that some young adults still enjoy quiet caravaning holidays with their parents. It seemed to me that older caravan club members and people with young children are more than welcome but if you are a young adult (who’s been caravaning with the caravan club for nearly 23 years) wanting to stay with your parents your not as welcome as you’d hope to be & you’re made to feel like you shouldn’t be there.

Apart from that issue, I had a wonderful time and am looking forward to returning soon.
