Sunday lunch. We have a couple of tables left today at 11.30- 12.00 for an early lunch then full until 6.30pm where we have a couple of tables left.

STEAK NIGHT WEDNESDAY NIGHT A couple of extras tomorrow night Fillet Beef Medalions With Black Pudding and Peppercorn Sauce and Strips of Sirlion Steak with sautéed Peppers, Red Onion and Mushrooms in a Sweet Chilli Sauce served with rice. Our normal 2 starters and 2 Steaks either 10oz Sirlion, 10oz Ribeye or 12oz Gammon also available. £32 We are full between 7-8 but have tables available from 5.30-6.45 and after 8pm.

What a quaint little pub this is. I had a roast beef and it was superb, the meat was tender and the vegetables done to perfection finished off with a very tasty gravy. My partner had the lamb shank which just fell off the bone. The staff were very efficient, polite and helpful.

Highly recommend you try.

We were in last Sunday for a roast beef dinner. Absolutely brill. Then went back the following Friday night and had the famous bogs pie. Lived upto its reputation.

We stayed in a gorgeous B and B Fairshaw Rigg nearby, they recommended Carts Bog and wow amazing meal, managed a starter and main, can highly recommend the Bog Pie, sadly no room for dessert , we highly recommend if you are staying anywhere nearby!

Visited Wednesday 01 June 2016. It just happened to be steak night. What a treat, food was fabulous, service was great and they welcomed our two spaniels into the bar. My husband said it was the best pub meal he had ever had- high praise indeed. Would visit again when in the area.

The pie, a steak, sausage n mash, gammon and a massive cheese n proper ham sandwich, all plates were left empty. My only small gripe was that it took 30 minutes for the food to come out (we had a 3 year old but they had asked if we wanted the sandwich before the mains) but after seeing and tasting the quality it was definitely freshly prepared and cooked so was worth the wait.

Quite simply , great location, great atmosphere, great service, top notch food.

My wife and I ordered the Bog Pie. It arrived hot and full with nice tender beef and a gravy that would have made a meal on its own. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked (for me). All in all we were very satisfied.

I visited for the beer festival I had an amazing time on both nights I travelled from cheshire and it was well worth the journey.the staff are a credit to the management and I look forward to visiting next year for the festival or hopefully sooner thankyou for a great weekend that I'll never forget

Best meal we have ever had out, been to many establishments but The Carts Bogg has definitely got a Michelin star chef working for them. Liam Crowe has got it mastered, we were shocked when we asked for the chef to praise him to find out it was my friends son running the kitchen. We will most definitely be back

1st time we've been here. Won't be the last. The food was excellent and the pub very friendly. Make sure you pre book as it is a very busy place.
