Cas Description

Aims & Objectives:

The aim of the Community Advice Service (CAS) is to ensure that no one in Sandwell is disadvantaged through lack of advice & information, lack of knowledge, lack of representation, mediation or negotiation. Therefore, it helps the community members with all aspects of their lives through case work, telephone, letters /email, and face to face advice at the advice center or at their home for the most vulnerable. CAS is also focused on designing innovative advice projects and securing external funding to support free advice services in areas where needs are not being met.

Management:

Community Advice Service (CAS) is a service user led organisation, where the service users take the majority role in managing the organisation, deciding on its priorities and how they should be addressed. On the 06th February 2014, CAS Members (service users) at their 1st General Meeting of CAS appointed Oli Choudhury as the Advice Development Manager and elected the following members as the Management Committee from April 2014 to March 2015.
