Happy Thursday Castaway Music Group! Here's a video of us playing Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd on it's 50th Anniversary last year. Can't wait until we're able to be back at Castaway and make some music together again!

To all Castaway Film makers: don't forget the upcoming Film Fest planned for June / July. It may have to be postponed a month or so but we'll still be looking for your creative work to be submitted for screening in 'Made by Castaway'. Here's a photo reminder of a film that won the audience vote in 2016 - by Anna Webb and then Castaway / Engine Room member Chantell Farr. Be inspired and get filming your Easter videos!

Happy Tuesday to our Multimedia/Act group! Our work this term has involved creating a menagerie of wonderful puppets for our David Copperfield production - we can’t wait to see them on stage! We also recently started work on some tableaux for our Copperfield in schools performances, which we will get back to as soon as we can. Keep smiling everyone - as Mr Dick says ‘you must keep up your spirits!’

A big Monday "Hello!" to our Castaway Creative and Feel the Beat members who we have missed seeing today. In recent weeks Creative have been working on a multi-sensory performance based on the "Water Cycle" which we can't wait to invite everyone to see once we're back. Feel the Beat's 'Peter Pan' will also be taking a break for a bit but Keep Believing and enjoy singing and dancing wherever you are!

With one more week before Castaway Easter break begins, here's a reminder of where Castaway's main company was up to with David Copperfield - Castaway's forthcoming production. It's a stage adaptation from Dickens by Deborah McAndrew, music by Conrad Nelson, directed by Robert Readman. We've provisionally re-booked the performances to 12 - 15 May, 2021 - in Junction theatre as planned. SAVE THE DATES! and enjoy this glimpse of what's to come, filmed by Katie Harriman. Due to the updated government guidelines Castaway will hold its last session this morning and then close until after the Easter holidays. We want all Members, Staff and Volunteers to remain safe and well at this time. We will be posting on Facebook and emailing any further updates as and when they happen.

Castaway closure for Coronavirus COVID -19 Following government advice / instructions, and putting first our concern for the welfare of members, volunteers and staff, Castaway will close early for the Easter holidays at the end of this week, after the Saturday youth groups. We'll stay closed until further notice. We’ve also taken the major decision to cancel the main company production of David Copperfield this June. We aim to reschedule the production for #Junction early 2021. We’re hoping that Sing will perform Sing Sea and Sky at #Mires Beck in October. Let’s stay in touch here and keep creative! The office and staff will continue working so contact us by phone or email. And from Castaway Act yesterday: 'We’ve dressed up and danced so we go home happy!'
