About Castle Court School

A co-educational day preparatory school for children from the age of 2 to 13 based in the heart of the country near Wimborne in Dorset.

Castle Court School Description

Castle Court School, a co-educational day school, was founded in 1948 by Donald and Mary Scott and in 1969 the school moved to its present site on the edge of Corfe Mullen. The school boasts over 30 acres of playing fields, adventure playground, woodland and gardens which surround the school buildings.

Headmaster, Richard Stevenson; “I am determined that Castle Court shall always be a family-centred school where happy children learn and where everyone is really known and valued for who they are. It is a place where parents know that we are advocates for their children’s talents and ensure they are equipped for life in every way. "

The school's pupils continue to excel across the board; academically, musically, in sport; as well as in art, drama and many other areas.

This official page has been set up to give past, present and future members of the "Castle Court Community" an insight into the school's day to day life, upcoming events and future projects.

The weather warning for our area has been increased from yellow to amber. With the likelihood of heavy snowfall, sleet and freezing temperatures overnight, and temperatures not beginning to rise until mid-morning we are concerned about the safety of driving in the lanes around school early tomorrow morning. We are therefore going to move the start of the school day tomorrow, Friday 1 February, to 10.30am. All morning buses will run, but please add 2 hours to your usual pick u...p time. All children should go to their form rooms on arrival at school. There will be no early morning swimming, badminton or breakfast club tomorrow. The E-Safety talks to parents and children have also had to be cancelled. These sessions will be rebooked at a later date. If this means that your childrens’ prep/tea/activity arrangements need to be changed please email activities@castlecourt.com.

Matches went ahead as usual despite the flurry of snow this morning. A beautiful day made even better by the arrival of our smallest and best dressed mascot! Thank you to all the parents for braving the cold to support your children.

Ensuring that our children are safe online is something as parents we want to ensure. We have educational IT specialists joining us on Friday for the day to talk to children and parents about IT safety. If you would like to book a space at the parents talk, 4.45pm to 5.45pm please go to CHQ. As a parent you can never have too much knowledge about this subject. Our Headmaster Luke Gollings and his wife Kate, recently hosted a coffee morning to welcome new parents to the school. This was followed by a special break for all the new children who came to the Headmaster’s study at break time with their mentors for hot chocolate and snacks.

Please be cautious driving along knoll lane. There is sheet ice and there has already been an incident along the road. Drive safely.

Fruit salad for lunch today. Nice to get the taste for summer - even when we are freezing outside!

The weather may be getting colder but the bugs and insects around our 60 acres of grounds will be warm and snug in this hotel - part of a discreet complex of three big hotels built by the children in the middle of the school
