We've just had a fantastic time at Catgill Campsite, it was everything you could have wanted and more, we will be going back ASAP, we took a two year old boy and a three year old boy, they loved every minute of it, plus the farm just two minutes down the road is a good day out too. credit where credit is due the young blond frizzy haired girl whom tried her upmost to keep the facilities clean she was none stop cleaning and keeping away the wet grass and moody boot prints. all in all its lovely family run place and we are looking forward to returning soon. thank you for a lovely weekend. the Banks Family.

Catgill is a lovely friendly campsite in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Octogenarian Ken - who for energy and enthusiasm alone could be in his twenties - welcomed us and his family showed us where to find firepit containers made out of old washing machine drums. The airy, spacious and clean facilities include fridges and, most miraculously, a kiosk serving fresh coffee and croissants in the morning. The views from the site are stunning and a short walk takes you to atmospheric Bolton Abbey by the lovely Wharfedale river. We walked up to Simon's Seat and then on for a delicious lunch at The Craven Arms - an unspoilt and lovingly maintained pub which is still gaslit and which has its own fascinating stories to tell. A magical place indeed. Thank-you Ken and family.

Very good place the owner is a nice and kind person easy to deal with no hassle you can get fire pits for £20.00 and wood for £20.00 but if you are wanting one on your last night you get your £10.00 back . Lovely area good view and the cows are Happy cows Dog friendly allowed to bring own BBQ and your allowed to have a campfire there is no midgies flying around at night // only problem you can here planes going over the campsite but other than that the owner has a very warm welcome cheap but doesn't bust your bank fair walk to the showers and toilets there is outlets so you can charge your phone while having a shower or doing your hair 😀

Such a shame, this campsite has been spoilt. It had such potential to be great, lovely views, rolling hills (and pitches) on a quiet farm. Unfortunately it seems to be over populated on a weekend by too many "family groups" who were more bothered about drinking from 2pm until (in our experience) 3.30am. They were sitting in large groups laughing and chatting loudly, you can text the owners with any problems and in their defence they did ask them to be quiet at just gone midnight when we informed them but after 10 mins they were back at it. We had 3 such groups around us so after 3hrs sleep we decided if they didn't go the next day we would. Fortunately they all did so we stayed the second night and saw the sites potential as it was now occupied by thoughtful families and after the sound of kids playing in the evening it was peaceful until morning.
I feel they are trying to make money on a weekend as they advertise 50 pitches but I counted 40 on the Sunday but Saturday had at least double that, as there are only 4 toilets and showers for each sex it gets really busy and my wife said the ladies were not clean as bins were overflowing. It is the first camp site I have ever been to that I have vowed to never go back to.

Good facilities. The staff are friendly. The site is on a meadow on a farm , so a lot of the pitches are on a slope but that is not really a problem. The views from anywhere on the site are fantastic. We will definitely be back !!

Very clean site on a farm. Toilets spotless and plenty of hot water. Easy walk to Bolton Abbey. Nice to have real coffee and croissants in the morning from the little coffee bar on site. Be aware that there is a slight slope on the camping fields, but if you pick your spot and pitch correctly then there's no problem.

Great site with lovely facilities and a friendly welcome

Clean and tidy good facilities and a lovely owner also good showers big plus but the local pub is a wedding venue and is very pricy so you may want to further a field at night

User

Great campsite, lovely folks and great scenery. No vans or hookups, so quite in-tents.

Get there early for the decent pitches.

Great location, busy in August but not over full.
