Cathedral Church Of St Marie, Sheffield Description

St. Marie's is the motherchurch of all the catholic churches in Sheffield. It is much loved and much used and is a haven of prayer and peaceliness in a busy city centre.

Built in 1850 by local architect M. E. Hadfield, it is a fine example of a Victorian church based on a neo-gothic design. The cathedral has a fine array of stained glass windows including designs but Hardman and Pugin.
