Good luck to Luke Turner who is doing a 10k tough mudder run this Saturday! Lexie, Lukeβs sister was transferred by CATS in 2018.. We cannot thank you enough for undertaking this challenge and fundraising for us. We wish you the best of luck! ππππππ

Every 2 years we do in a charity race, and I use that term loosely. Mostly it is us, the CATS ( Childrenβs Acute Transport Service)Team walking or pretending to run then flinging ourselves over under and around obstacles!! Weβre doing this laughing and screaming, with the occasional tear in memory of our dear friend and colleague Rachel.
All the money we raise in Rachβs memory goes towards us being able to provide comfort packs for parents and carers of the critically ill ch...ildren we transfer. When their children are critically ill or injured parents may not have had time to grab even the basics from home before they are taken to paediatric intensive care units. Our bag contains: toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, water, biscuits, mints, an information booklet, and our mascot Cassie the Cat.
If you could donate to our charity we would be extremely grateful and will reward you with some ridiculous training pics!!
Many thanks is in advance. πππ

As weβre all aware, in the winter pressure on the NHS increases. The biggest impact on our service is the number of beds available in the paediatric intensive care units (ICU). One way to help free up beds is to move patients from the ICUs back to the hospitals from whence they came. Being able to do this can make the difference between keeping a patient within our region and having to move them to hospitals in the South, Midlands or North of the country. For a period of 2-3 months CATS has expanded to have three teams available to retrieve patients during the day.
Wishing all our CATS families and friends a happy and healthy new year! Sending it now as weβre busy! Enjoy everyone! ππππ₯π₯π₯xxx

What an amazing guy- Lary pictured on the right cycled from Lands End to Yorkshire to raise money for the parent packs we give to each family we transfer. Thank you so much. These parent packs make such a difference to our families who often have not had time to collect basic provisions from home. They contain: water, biscuits, toothpaste shower gel and some mints. Thank you so much we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! πππ
