Cats Protection Dereham Adoption Centre

i adopted my two cats from here, i also cried my eyes out when i was there i cried like a baby, i wanted all of them and every time i see a long stay cat i want it, my two were black and white long stays, love them so much, thank you so much cats protection for bringing them into my life and keep up your fabulous work, huge love and rubs to all your cats your day will come. xx

You can see 20 plus cats and kittens in one go and I was impressed they allow you to go in and handle the cats unaccompanied and spend as long as you like with them. For around 60 quid you can have a cat that has been neutered, vaccinated, flea’d, wormed, microchipped and health checked by a vet. Bargain! From the happy owners of Ziggie (formerly Lola 2).

We visited the centre last Saturday to find Amber at the time her name was ariel we new straight away we had to have her :) the staff we all very friendly and happy to help we really couldn't have picked a better cat to be apart of the family if I had my way I would have taken them all. All the staff do a great job with all the cats and public

We visited in early January - I thought it would be very sad with all the little cats needing homes , but it definitely wasn't .It was very uplifting . They all had their own little homes ( cages) full of toys, blankets etc and they all had a private bit with a warm bed - more blankets and a heater !

We adopted our gorgeous Maddie approx 8 weeks ago. We have had a great service from the Dereham Cats Protection they have been extremely helpful if we’ve called with a query. The cats in their care are really well looked after and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you are looking to rehome a cat � �

The staff are lovely and friendly. Very honest about the cats health and history.

Sam in particular guided us through the cats available and we now have a lovely one year old boy to share our home.

So friendly and welcoming. The cats are very well cared for. I spoke to other rescue centres when looking for my cat and felt as though I was needing to jump through hoops to rescue a cat. For example I hadn't lived in my property for long enough or I lived too far from the centre. Very quick process to adopt my furry friend. Providing that you can provide them a loving forever home there won't be any problems. I would definitely rescue a cat from here in the future.

Lovely and helpful :) let us have cuddles even though all the suitable cats were reserved :) also they were happy to let our little one have cuddles too

It's been just over a week since we've had our gorgeous boy Pepe home with us and boy has he settled in well. Such a gorgeous loving boy and he's great with my young nephew too. I just wanted to say Thank you very much for taking our Ginger Tom Jasper! It was the most difficult and hardest choice we had to make, you gave us time and have helped us every step of the way, You were all very kind and understanding about our situation and have kept us up to date with him everytime we call up! As I can see he is up on your page and I am very sad but happy to see him happy! Thank you for making our toughest choice in the world more reassuring knowing he was going somewhere where he would be treated exactly the same as we would! Thank you once again, we are hoping he will find a forever home very soon! we will be donating money to your charity's in the future xxxx

Hi,we have had our boy from Longham adoption centre from 4th april,he is living life to the full,you would think he had been with us all his life,the centre had done a great job with him he fitted in so well,thank you all for a great job,

Had two black fur balls from them 16 years ago but sadly this year lost the last one,would love to have another kitty but alas no longer have transport to come over. It was such a lovely place could not do enough for me it seems they have only got better. Living in hope xx

Got my lovely sweet candy was name sweep form you 6 months ago she is settled well now putting on weight and totally at home. She is a one to one cat and as I am on my own we have made a very special friendship she stops by my side all day and night love her to bits.

Fantastic place. Looks great with the fresh refurbish and new cat pens are brilliant. Cats are well looked after and given the right treatments before being homed. Brought our little Beryl home today and she’s already settled into our home. Would recommend to anyone.

Due to unfair circumstances, my husband and I had to give up our little boys, Minstrel and Stark.

They are so missed and I still cry about them, but I know they are in a good home with a loving family because of your charity. It's very reassuring to know you do home checks before allowing families to adopt, as it helped put my mind at ease.



Thank you for being kind and not judgemental (even when I was bawling my eyes out as we said goodbye).

I hope to adopt from you guys when we find a house of our own again. ☺️

Being allergic to Most cats I used to have one as a child and wanted to get another as lovely company so visited cats protection. Staff were always very helpful, could go into the chattery and see all the cats whenever I liked and for however long I could.

Because of my concerns about adopting and allergy, I also have 3 months to return him if it doesn't work. I have Adopted Eric after several visits and so far so good.

This place is a godsend to cats and I intend to try and volunteer for them cat stroking of cleaning wherever I can in future. Keep up the good work all.

At long last got round to visiting the Centre. I took some food, treats, bedding and toys of my old Harry cat that he no longer needs or can have. I was really impressed with the whole set up and even plucked up the courage to say hello to some of the cats and didn't bring away any more feline buddies!

Adopted two tabby feral kittens last year, such a friendly place I decided to become a volunteer, have loved every minute.
