Cedar Childcare Description
I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, My last Ofsted graded inspection, was an OUTSTANDING in every area.
I live in Barnstaple with my Husband and two children. We have two daughters, of 9 and 6 years.
I am completing my Degree in Early Childhood Studies and will be graduating in May. I have experience of working in a school as a Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant.
My husband works in a care home in Braunton and loves his job!
We live in a lovely house with a large garden, which has lots of equipment for the children to play on and with, including a 14ft trampoline and swing set.
We have a Yorkshire Terrier, called Marley, who loves children. We appreciate that the children will need to have time without the dog, so he has a crate that he can go in for space.
My setting is inspired by Steiner and Montessori. I don't believe in bad weather, just bad clothing! We like to get messy in the rain and mud, and get messy inside using different materials, as many as we can think of, clay, salt dough, shaving foam, cornflour ~(gloop). I have lots of toys that we use altogether and for any activities.
I also like to introduce children to sewing, cooking and any other skills i feel they will need to accompany them into adulthood. It is imperative that they are able to feel confident, happy adults and i have all the time in the world to facilitate this!
We attend lots of fun activities such as the library, bump and rhyme, and tiny tumblers, we also enjoy being out doors with regular trips to the woods, zoo, park, beach and most of all Exmoor! (my favourite place! ).
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, and I will also be offering funded sessions to two, three and four year olds.
My husband and i have enchanced DBS checks, and are checked by Social Services too. I am a Member of the National Childminding Association and Devon Child Minding Association. We are also fully insured.
