I have used Cedar Farm many times for my dog, Roxy. She has always been very well cared for and is happy when we pick her up. She loves the bath on her last day.

I have been bringing my sensitive and fussy Collie Cross here for 7 years. The staff are caring and kind and my dog never hesitates going in with them. My dog trusts them and so do I. Highly recommend.

Replying to the owners response to my review. I think they need to get some facts right. Firstly when Holly went into the cattery she had not even had a scan, so NOBODY knew what was wrong with her. The only treatment she had had was blood tests which came back inconclusive apart from been abit anaemia so the information they are using was after Holly left them
She was not on behavioural tablets for behaviour it was because she was getting stressed having the blood tests and she was coming into the cattery so the vet said she would give her something to calm her down abit , not behaviour, big difference.
They claimed the vet didnot record the 1Kg weight loss, so they are obviously questioning me on the fact the vet weighed her when she come home and commented how much she had lost.
A few days before I took her to the cattery the vet weighed her and she said she had put on some weight so based on that we thought she was improving. With this information we left her at the cattery hoping she would continue to improve. Surely while she was with them they could see she was losing weight and getting weak, she could hardly stand up when my husband brought her home nearly three weeks later. Good job she was not in their any longer I think she would have died. Also when my husband picked her up she was cowering in the cat flap and was a completely different cat.
Holly was also not a feisty cat she was very friendly.
What we are saying is while Holly was in your care she deteriated rapidly and as you are supposed to be professional animal careers should have realised this and either contacted the vet or us, this surely is why you take our telelphone numbers

Yes there is two side to every story and this is our side. We have lost our cat.Devastated.

My cat Holly was in Cedar farm for nearly 3 weeks, in that time she lost 1 kg in weight and was dehydrated, this was confirmed by the vet. When she went into the cattery I informed them she had been under the vet. While in the cattery she didnot eat or drink much, WHY DID THEY NOT TAKE HER TO THE VET, they could see she was going down hill, when my husband brought her home she looked dreadful and was very wobbly on her feet. I took her to the vet who said after a scan she needed an operation, but the vet said she would probably not survive the anaesthetic. With this terrible news we had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. They could have had the decency to ring us and tell us about our cat going downhill. She was on some medication but because she was not eating she didnot get that either. I have wrote to Cedar Farm but no reply.Shocking totally devastated.

A fantastic placenta take your pets while you are a away. I can only speak from a small animal (rabbit and Guinea pig) point of view but they took excellent care of them. They will allow you to keep an animal there in their own cage and will administer some medicines. They check that your animal is safe by ensuring that all borders have up-to-date vaccinations.

5 STAR REVIEW

I live in the south midlands with relatives in the Scunthorpe area. I’m passionate about my two rabbits, which I take with me pretty much wherever I go. Unfortunately, on this visit to Scunthorpe, a new dog in my mum’s property, put paid to my rabbits staying with me – so I booked them in for a week in Cedar Farm’s ‘Hutch’. I was just checking the address before I set off, when I saw the ‘Grimsby Unfortunately’ review giving Cedar Farm 1 star. I must say this worried be greatly – but time was against me so I decided to print off a copy of the review and confront Cedar Farm’s management – with a view that if this problem couldn’t be resolved then I would cancel my visit to my mum’s and return home! I arrived in Burringham mid-afternoon, I asked to speak to the manager. While I was waiting for him to arrive, I took a little bit of comfort by reading several of the dozens of “Thank You” letters and cards that were hanging on the office walls. Our conversation started by me asking if he had seen this review on Google – which he had. I asked about the claim on Cedar Farm’s website about being members of the RWAF. The manager said that small animal boarding in the “Hutch” was a relatively new venture. When they launched the service, they advertised with the RWAF and intended to join; this was also put on their website – and unfortunately forgotten. However, when this error was pointed out to them, this claim was removed immediately; no excuse, but I understand how this could happen. I then asked to see my rabbits proposed accommodation. First impressions were that the “Hutch” was an impressive place, warm, despite it blowing a gale outside, clean, tidy and lots of room. My rabbits were sharing a pen which was set up with food and greens and a water bottle. To satisfy myself, I then went through every point made in the review. The explanation that was told to me by the manager was very different to the one in the review. We went back to the office and the manager showed me the letter of complaint from the customer who wrote the review. The letter (with a postmark on the envelope), arrived THE DAY AFTER this customer had brought her rabbits in to Cedar Farm for their 4th visit. This I have to say was really weird and didn’t make any sense to me at all. If I had a problem with a boarding establishment, I certainly wouldn’t go back – let alone give the company a letter at the start of new visit….particularly if I wasn’t happy with their service in the past. He also explained how at the end of the stay, he had spent a significant amount of time going through the letter face to face with the customer to explain – which is why he had not replied in writing. I decided to let my rabbits stay. I asked for the water bottle to be changed for a bowl – which was done while I was there. My rabbits hopped into their accommodation and I left. Still being a little concerned, I called in unannounced to Cedar Farm a couple of days later just to satisfy myself all was well. I was taken to see my rabbits by a member of staff who really knew her stuff. My rabbits were hopping around – seeming happy and content, they had all of their toys, sufficient food, greens and water. I had a cuddle with them before I left. I returned after their weeks stay in Scunthorpe and collected my pets. My impression – this is the best boarding stay my pets have had (outside of my mum’s house). I found everything as expected – and, as a very fussy rabbit owner and I will definitely be using Cedar Farm again.

Would highly recommend as I didn't need a appointment to view you can just turn up between 11am and 3pm and get shown around all the areas the kennels, cattery and small animal house and was lovely to see it all so clean and the staff know names of the pets as they are showing you around. This showed me that they cared and I have 6 xs dogs one of which needs medications am and pm and this did not cause any problems with them staying here as I wrote it down and they just followed the instructions. This was great for me as they put my mind at ease knowing they were been cared for by staff that think of the animals first. Now I regularly use Cedar farm and love that all my fur babies go in and come out happy and that the animals In their care are cleaned fed watered and walked twice a day i even got to give my little ones a duvet just to make sure that they are warm been so small xxxxxxx
