Lovely family run campsite. Clean bathrooms, play area for kids.

User

A lovely little campsite that accomodates only about 20 tents or campers.

Pros:

Very friendly and efficient staff
Small and family friendly site
Play area for kids
Very clean and well equipped toilet and shower block and decent washing up area
Fridges and freezers, phone charging points and kettle.
Power hook up points
Perfect location for Scotney Castle, Bedgebury Place, Bewl Water (a lovely 20 min walk up a lane), Batemans House etc

Cons:

Traffic noise from the nearby busy A21 is continuous and rather intrusive (especially noticeable at night) which is a real shame...recommend ear plugs to avoid it interupting sleep.

Many pitches are on a slight slope (sloping upwards and sideways) which takes a bit of creative angling of sleeping direction but not a massive problem.

Overall I would highly recommend this campsite

This is a great little 'proper' campsite. Good value for money and you can book a pitch ahead. Friendly owners. Lovely peaceful setting, spotless showers (50p) and toilets , hookups, washing up stations with kettles and fresh drinking water. Off ground bbq's permitted also has a wood fire pit. Good location, very convenient for exploring around Sussex/Kent borders. Battle is 15 minutes down the road if you need supplies. Whilst here do visit Knole and Sissinghurst - you will regret neither!

Great well kept campsite. Really friendly welcoming owners. Footpath from campsite to Bewl Water. Highly recommend.

I do not appreciate being told to stop playing at 8pm. The campsite is located on a slope on a busy road and there is a no-noise rule after 11pm. I am not able to fart without fear. I do not need to be told to go to bed by a stranger. I had a horrific experience.

Beautifully kept campsite with reasonable prices and clean showers and toilets. Wonderful owners too, extremely warm and friendly. Couldn't ask for more.

Very nice owners, nice quiet site. The facilities are clean and the showers are warm (take lots of 50p coins as its 50p per 5 minutes of warm shower) but It's worth it to maintain clean facilities. Tap water for washing your face etc is also warm!
Fresh produce is grown on site and some available free to grab outside the reception - had me some fantastic courgettes with my pasta :P
Beautiful views of sunrise and sunset close by at the lake and even from the site.
There is a small room with mains points for charging phone/laptop, seating and a couple fridge/freezers for guests.
Jay was very helpful; this was my first time camping and he help me set up the tent and offered me a mallet for the pegs (I'm a super noob I know).
Pot washing facilities also has a clean kettle next to it which was nice.

Would highly recommend, great pricing, good facilities, nice people, beautiful area.

NB the pitch is on a slight slope but nothing major, just something to consider if you're bringing a mobile home but for camping its not noticeable.

Please check out the images I have added and if you're this far into my post I'd say just book it, you wont be disappointed :)

Great for a long weekend and within walking distance of Bewl Water. 👍

What a brilliant campsite! We arrived and Jay, the site owner, was super friendly from the off and I felt so welcomed the entire stay. The site is simply lovely, great ammenities for us yet the site still felt in touch with nature + it is right by bewl so you can walk straight there without a road in site - first class in every aspect - go here!! :D

Beautiful site well located between Bewl Water Resevoir and Bedgebury forest park offering loads to do for all the family.
This site also has lots of little extras thrown in that other sites charge for ie kettles, BBQ's, caravan ramps (as the site does have a slight slope to it) quiet reading room with free use of 2 x fridge freezers the list goes on......
As I said earlier a beautiful site and very well run.
