We are thrilled to announce, thanks to our amazing supporters we are through to the next round with a chance to win a staggering £100,000 in association with Mumnset and Animal Friends Insurance. Thank you so much to all our fab supporters who voted for us. We hope we can count on you when the final voting opens in the next few weeks. Details of when and how are still to be announced, we will let you all kinow as soon as we do.
Here's what Mumsnet have posted
"With a stagg...ering 96% of the votes the Celia Hammond Trust is the winner of this round and will be entered into the final 3 charities, to be in the hopes of winning the £100,000 donation from Animal Friends.
Also Animal Friends would like to address some of your queries as to why the money cannot be split across the 3 finalists, here's what they would like to say:
"Animal Friends has supported all 3 charities previously and no doubt will do so again in the future. However, this large donation is intended to make a hugely significant difference to one charity with the help of the public but rest assured, the others have previously received donations from us too. We carry out a significant programme of donations all year round"
Finally, just to clarify any confusion of how this is going to work: the Celia Hammond Trust will now be put through to the final stage along with 2 other charities. In a few weeks there will be another thread where you can vote again for the winner of the £100,000 donation. "

Sir Montague at Lewisham Branch is ready for a new home.....
Sir Montague came into our care as a very sick stray back in April.
Staggering, uncoordinated and barely able to walk this frightened stray cat was really unwell.... Our vets carried out blood tests and discovered that his wobbly symptoms were as a result of infection with toxoplasmosis. He was also suffering with severe dental disease and tested FIV positive.
Sir Montague has been treated for the toxoplasmosis infection and has fully recovered from the infection. Our vets also had to remove all of his teeth, again he has recovered very well from this and his mouth is now comfortable. Plus we have neutered and microchipped him!
This very handsome pale ginger cat is now a picture of health health and looks wonderful compared to the state he was in when he first arrived with us. We estimate that he is about 8-10 years old.
Sir Montague is friendly but is slightly shy when you first approach him so he is therefore seeking an adult home. Sir Montague is fine to live with other cats and would like a home with a garden.
After almost six months in our care he is more than ready for a new home.
To enquire about Sir Montague please send an email to lewisham@celiahammond.org
or if you are unable to send a email please leave us a clear voicemail message including your contact phone no on 020 8694 6545 your message will be passed to our homing team.

A Happy Ending for Bonnie ........
Bonnie a 2 year old female cat who was left behind when her owners were evicted from their home. Bonnie came into our care with a fractured tail which has had to be amputated, she has now recovered from this and been neutered and is now settling into her new home.
"Hello. Just a quick message to say ‘Margery’ (was Bonnie) is doing very well. She has been very curious and enjoys sniffing around. She is also very affectionate and enjoys being... stroked. She has been sitting near me when I’m cooking (and awaiting a piece of chicken) and has been enjoying long naps on the sofa. She is very jumpy and startles at unfamiliar noises but was very intrigued by the TV. She’s definitely taking to being part of the family. Thank you. Sharon and the rest of the family. X"

Abandoned cats and kittens now safely in the care of one of our foster homes...
We received a call from someone who was concerned for a mum cat and her 4 kittens born 3 days previously and an approx 6 month old kitten from her previous litter.
The mum cat and her older kitten are friendly and are thought to have have been left behind by their previous owners.
... The mother cat had her new kittens tucked away inside a storage box just outside the back door. The caller had tried to shelter them as best they could using cardboard and a garden chair.
The cats are now safe and settling in with a volunteer foster carer.

Noah and Olivia at Lewisham Branch are seeking a new home....
These two 16 week old siblings were rescued from a back garden in Blackheath as part of a litter of six - their siblings have already found new homes in pairs. Noah and Olivia were initially quite shy but have received lots of handling and TLC from our staff and volunteers and have gained lots of confidence.
They are seeking a home together and would suit an adult home. A home with eventual access to a garden... via a cat flap is sought.
To enquire about Noah and Olivia please send an email to lewisham@celiahammond.org
or if you are unable to send a email please leave us a clear voicemail message including your contact phone no on 020 8694 6545 your message will be passed to our homing team.

RESCUED TODAY.....Two emaciated, flea infested young cats have been found abandoned in a box in Brockwell Park in London. They are in the most appalling condition and are now under the care of our veterinary team at our Lewisham Branch. Max at Lewisham Branch urgently needs a new home......
Max a friendly 10 year old cat was adopted from CHAT 7 years ago. Unfortunately his owners have moved to New Zealand and could not take Max with them.
They have told us that: " Max is an independent cat, he likes to do his own thing and he loves being outside (he has a cat flap). He tolerates baby and toddlers but would not get along well with other pets in the house.
... Max loves having a high spot to sleep (we put some carpet on the top of the wardrobe there for him to scratch and sleep on)
Max loves to chase a feather toy and loves tennis balls, he is not the kind of cat that will sit on your lap but instead will lay next to (snuggle up to) you on the couch"
We had hoped to rehome Max from his current home directly to a new home before his owners moved but sadly time ran out and Max is back in the rescue centre where is very unhappy. A new home is therefore urgently sought for Max.
To enquire about Max please send an email to lewisham@celiahammond.org
or if you are unable to send a email please leave us a clear voicemail message including your contact phone no on 020 8694 6545 your message will be passed to our homing team.

Throwback Thursday to our 1995 newsletter and the opening of our #lewisham clinic! This was such a wonderful time for CHAT and all of our supporters who fundraised on our behalf. Celia said: "A thousand thanks to all of you have helped to make our dream a reality. Hopefully next year will be happier for the animals whose quality of life we all work so hard to improve".

Where are our owners?
Our Lewisham Branch has had two stray cats handed in for homing who were not microchipped. We feel sure that someone must be missing them and are looking for their owners.
"Denise" a very friendly middle aged brindle tortoiseshell female cat was found apparently stray in Bermondsey. ... She has clearly had dental work carried out in the past and is in good condition.
"Timothy" a middle aged neutered tabby male cat was brought to us because he had been sleeping under cars in a street in Lewisham. He is a little grumpy but in quite good condition.
Found cat posters have already been put up in the locations that the cats were found in but have not brought forward their owners so far.
To enquire about these cats please send an email to lewisham@celiahammond.org or please leave a clear voicemail message including your contact phone no on 020 8694 6545. Thank you
