Central Helicopters

Wow!! This was a 10th birthday gift for my daughter, and I couldn’t have bought a better present. Myself and my two girls couldn’t have been better looked after by our pilot James, he was amazing! This is a memory we will have forever.

Went on the Dambuster and Chatsworth tour with my 91 year old friend. Staff were helpful and friendly from booking to, boarding and unboarding the helicopter. Nothing too much trouble. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced! We saw rainbows up close! The view looked like a map. I want to go up again! Just remember travel sickness tablets before hand if motion makes you queasy!!'

This time last week I was up in the air and I still am! Using a Gift Voucher from the family for my 70th birthday I had a wonderful experience, not least due to the excellent welcome & friendliness of the staff at Central Helicopters and in particular Capt Sean Humphrey. Many many thanks.

So impressed with this place! Booked my husband a 60 minute flight lesson in the R22 and from the moment we got out the car the staff and capt James could not have been more pleasant, welcoming and friendly. I took my 1 year old daughter with me and was a little concerned we may be in the way but we were made very welcome and the lovely lady even got her some toys to play with. My husband loved the flight and now wants to do his pilots license! Thankyou for a lovely afternoon out. Amy and Rich �

Really great flying experience in the Robinson R44 staff and facilities are first class would like to follow up with trial lesson in future thanks for a great time

Last Saturday (10th February) I finally managed to get my wife to her present from me for our 50th wedding anniversary. This was a one hour lesson flying, yes flying a Robinson R22 helicopter, it was planned for the 3rd our anniversary date but bad weather postponed it.



She doesn’t do facebook, which is why am doing this.



The welcome when we arrived could not have been better from all of the staff, Marilyn, Ian and Sean the instructor. After the arrival of Sean (he had returned with one of the other helicopters) my wife left with him to go to the hanger for the pre flight instructions / operating procedure for the flight. From there to the R22 and whilst it was warming up Sean took here through the flight details.



She has nothing but the highest praise for Sean’s professionalism, his excellent training skills and his ability to explain all the technical details in terms that could be easily understood.



Then it was off for the flight, which I videoed both the outward flight, when they were clear of the airport Sean said, it’s yours. Then the return when I witnessed first hand her flying skill. If she made an error Sean simply repeated the instruction there was no making her feel silly or belittling her he was so calm and oozed confidence and assurance making her feel so relaxed and made the whole experience one she will never forget.



I witnessed her hovering, going backwards / forwards landing from a hover then back up in the air a few feet and holding in position.



If you love flying and have thought about having a go then this company is the one to use, both of us have the highest praise and gladly recommend them, go on give it a go.



There is a café there serving very reasonably priced food, oh they also do trips if you don’t fancy flying it yourself.



Note, a helicopter is harder to fly but much more fun than a fixed wing (my wife’s words) and she has now flown both, a Cessna twice and now the helicopter. She also says Sean was streets ahead as an instructor than the two fixed wing instructors.

As some who is qualified to comment, its one thing knowing your trade but it’s a totally different thing being able to teach it and in my opinion Sean is in a league of his own a consummate professional.

I completed an experience day here and loved it. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

I brought a flight experience for my dad and we went yesterday. When we got there we was impressed by the look of the place, it was very clean and modern. The staff were extremely helpful and polite and we felt like vips through the whole experience. An extremely fantastic day. We are already planning the next visit. Thank you all.

Hi central helicopters Thanks for putting this flight experience over Derbyshire was absolutely fantastic and I liked every minute of the whole day and the staff was very friendly and helpful they told us when the flight time was and I would like to say a very special thank you to the pilot who said you can have photos with the captain and he also let me sit inside the cockpit of the helicopter

Great experience to have and very welcoming staff at the Nottingham Heliport, as I was instructed by James on the day and found the whole experience worthwhile from the moment I arrived to the drive home! �

First time visit for us yesterday and I can say it won't be our last.

Warm welcome and an amazing reception when we arrived.

Lovely cafe with fantastic food at reasonable prices.

A great place to drop into either if you're flying or if you just want to take the kids to see the flying.

Came out today for a 90 minute experience flight. After a pre flight briefing we had to wait for a gap in the weather to fly so had a tour of the aircraft hanger. We the. Took to the air and had an absolutely brilliant time. my instructor James was fantastic. Absolutely loved it and would recommend to anyone. Thank you guys

Booked Central Helicopters for my wedding to take myself and my Best Men to the Church. It was a treat/surprise for the Best Men - and you should have seen their faces as the helicopter came into view and landed. I cannot fault the service, they bent over backwards to accommodate all my requests, including flying over where guests and the bridal party were getting ready. The guys in the office were brilliant with making the arrangements and the pilot was also excellent. There was a last minute worry that the weather might prevent us from flying, but they kept us informed and went the extra mile to ensure it went ahead. I also thought the price was very reasonable for the service we received. Thank you for being a very key part of our special day.

Absolutely amazing!! They completely changed our booking so that husband could fly then land later and pick up the kids, can’t thank u enough!!
