Digital technologies can foster incredible personal, economic, relational and intellectual growth - they are powerful tools when used in a balanced way. However, when left unchecked they can infringe upon our lives and be detrimental to us. We're a think tank operating across the UK and Europe on a mission to make human agency over tech the norm, so that we can all live more fulfilled and prosperous lives, both online and offline. We exist to ensure that we remain intentional with the way we use tech, the role it plays in our lives and that it serves us, not the other way around. What differentiates us is: - Research-Driven: we've brought together the World's finest minds from across academia to give our work solid evidence-based foundations- Balanced: we recognise that these platforms bring huge benefits as well as problems. This is an extremely complex issue, which we'll approach with balance- Solutions Oriented: raising awareness of the problems is only one half of the equation. We focus on actionable solutions- Message of optimism, not fear: we need to be optimistic about the future. It's essential that people, especially young people, want to use these technologies in a healthier and more intentional wayOur ultimate goal is to empower people to maximise the positive elements of these technologies and minimise the negative elements. We're doing this because we believe that this issue will be generation-defining. It's social media today, the metaverse tomorrow.
