Champ Marine Workboats

About Champ Marine Workboats

The Cowes Champ has been designed primarily as a small workboat. It is 22’ - 6” x 8’ - 5” over the hull, it has a full bow and semi elliptical stern with a deep sheer strake all round to take large fendering.

The hull is full bodied, of the double chine form, and designed for ballasted displacements of over 4 tonnes. There is a deep keel with space to swing a large diameter propeller, in a shallow tunnel if necessary, with a skeg to protect the stern gear and rudder.

Although intended for operation at displacement speeds with good bollard pull the hull has a relatively flat run aft so that at lighter displacements and with suitable power it is capable of running at slightly higher speeds.

The hull design has been based on a series of similar workboats and although this version is being produced in grp the design is also suitable for building in alloy and steel.

These are my most recent pictures but we are a little further along, the two half's are almost matching, with a few more layers and the frame work for the wheels, we hope to be finished by Christmas.

FOR NEW PEOPLE VIEWING THIS PAGE!
I am so proud to finally share this page with you all…….
Making a come back in to the Marine World my Dad (Clive Jeffery) and I are so excited to share our new venture with you: The new CHAMP MARINE BOAT.
... The last 4 years has been anything but easy for my talented Dad, however he has picked himself up, dusted himself off and with positivity and nothing short of hard work we have created this brilliant new vessel.
On our page you can see how this build came from an idea, to the boat you see today - and everything in-between. There has certainly been highs, lows, blood, sweat, tears, several broken ribs (and a fire) but letting nothing stand in our way we are extremely proud and happy with the product……… so please like and share, and like and share some more!
Over the last 50 years, my Dad has been incredibly successful in the Boat Building industry; designing, working, building, creating and making marine history with his products. I helped him build his first ever mould when I was just 13....... it’s now 20 years on and I can honestly say I’ve still not learnt everything he knows about boats (but I’m on my way)! At 70 years young, he is a fountain of knowledge, a credit to the Island and the pillar of my life. Couldn’t be prouder at this moment – here’s to new beginnings and positivity Dad! xxxx
