About Chancellor'S Wharf
Chancellor’s Wharf is the only Lancaster University managed halls of residence in the city centre and it’s available to students of all colleges.
Chancellor'S Wharf Description
Chancellor's Wharf is the only city centre accommodation owned and managed by Lancaster University. It sits on the banks of the Lancaster Canal opposite the Water Witch pub, and is just a two minute walk from the bus stops at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The three buildings, constructed in 1994, contain 242 bedrooms in cluster flats of around 4-12. Plenty of variety to suit group needs! All are classed as 'standard' accommodation with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. All of the buildings were fully refurbished in 2010 and 2011. Each one has its own common room on the top floor.
Chancellor's Wharf houses undergraduates from all colleges, as well as postgraduates. After your first year on the main University campus (only a short bus ride away) you are welcome to apply to live at Chancellor's.
All the facilities you have come to expect are on offer, including night time security and a dedicated Accommodation Manager, fees inclusive of utility bills, access to the University network and high speed internet. It gives you the opportunity to move into the city centre, but keep the reassurance of University managed accommodation.

Our new reception is now open in Lune House! If you still haven't been in, please come and collect your mailbox key. You can use your fob to access this area and find accommodation staff and Porters, and once all the keys have been issued you'll be able to collect your mail even when there's nobody in the office :)

At Chancellor's Wharf you're at the heart of the city-wide Lancaster Music Festival, which starts tonight and offers a whole load of diverse acts at venues across Lancaster from up at the park to down by the castle. Take a wander round and see what you find! #lovelancaster 🎶🎺🎶🎷🎶🎸🎶🥁🎶😁< br>
If you fancy watching the fireworks over the castle next month, there's a great vantage point on Ripley Heights - just walk further down the canal a couple of minutes, over the footbridge and up the path by the fields.
