We no longer give away plastic carrier bags ....yippee.. So we have had our own Jute bags made.... 😍 & we love them....😍 £6 each ..... xxx Next phase is no polystyrene... watch this space 🤗
WHAT IS JUTE? ... Jute is a vegatable bast fibre plant. The fibre is collected from bast or skin of the plant and spun into a coarse, strong thread. Linseed and hemp are two others. Jute is very adaptable and can grow where it’s salty, sandy or full of clay. It likes high temperature and humidity and particularly thrives in India and Bangladesh. The rst recorded history of the use of jute as a textile bre was in the 1500’s. The plants grow up to 12 feet in height and are harvested and processed by hand, in India and Bangladesh 5 million jobs are linked to the Jute trade. Jute is also known as Hessian or Burlap and has numerous advantages over other materials: primarily its adaptability, resilience and biodegrading qualities and the non-polluting processing methods that are required to produce the fabric.

We travel 20 minutes from our home to buy fish and chips from here. Best one around by far, and the staff are always very friendly too :D

The best fish and chips in the country! Always visit here on my yearly trip to Hayle and everytime I have fish and chips anywhere else I always remark "good, but not as good as that place in Hayle" we drive down from Glasgow and on arrival this place is always our first stop. Always marks the start of our holiday.

The best fish and chips I've ever tasted, the fryer has certainly got it right, fish is cooked superbly and tastes great. Highly recommend, we have a 12 mile round trip but can't resist!

Me and my wife wanted fish and chips for our wedding breakfast.

We have tried fish and chips from countless fish and chip shops around the west coast of Cornwall and we always without fail agree that we couldn't beat Chandler's Plaice in Hayle. We were delighted and over the moon when Chandler's Plaice agreed to cook for our wedding.



The food was amazing, everything was piping hot and delicious and every guest loved it with complements throughout the evening.



We can't thank or recommend you enough!

Bought Food from chandlers this evening, one word sums it up! Outstanding!!! The food was great but most of all the service was fantastic, I am unable to eat gluten so as you can imagine eating out is pretty stressful sometimes but the lovely lady serving made it an absolute breeze! So helpful and understanding she really couldn't of been any better! Thank you so much will definitely be back!

Been coming to St Ives since born and only been staying in Hayle since 2005 but this year found this fish shop for the first time. Got to say we enjoyed our fish and chips. Lovely white fish and both fish and chips were a large portion (couldn't finish it all) we will be back �
