Really enjoyed our meal last weekend at Chaopraya, Liverpool One. First time we had been there although we had been on a couple of occasions to the Manchester restaurant. Booked by phone a short time before and although we were late arriving due to misjudging the distance we had to travel, they were very pleasant. We were seated and served quickly & my shellfish allergy was discussed with a separate menu being produced. It was very busy but there were no delays in ordering or in the food arriving. There were two birthday parties there & we enjoyed watching the solemn procession of the cake accompanied by staff in traditional costume and a drummer at the rear who seemed to thoroughly enjoy his role. All in all very enjoyable & we would certainly go again.

Only went for a few drinks before the Kings of Leon concert, drinks and staff were lovely and we really enjoyed the singer that was on. So much so that we not been going to a concert me and my husband could have stayed there all evening. He was amazing!!! I need to find out when he's going to be there again so that we can spend the evening there!

I visited at the weekend having previously been about 4 years ago. This time I had my family with me and we had a great meal.

I was disappointed that the dish I enjoyed last time, duck with roasted chillis had been dropped but had lovely belly pork instead.

It's not the cheapest meal I'll ever order but definitely value for money when considering the menu, staff and surroundings.

I love this bar and restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Jake for making me and ny friend a fabulous hazelnut martini and Grace for excellent customer service.

Was quiet when we went last night. The dj played really good music...some old school classics. The decor is lovely and our waitress was very helpful and nice. Needs a proper cocktail menu though as there was limited choice on the drinks menu and id never heard of them and were mostly gin based! Waitress informed me no cocktail menu but the bar staff can make up most well known cocktails. She recommended a porn star martini which was very nice xx

I've eaten here several times in the past, but not recently. The first obvious change is that the owners have started to recruit local (British) staff - not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they are trained to help explain the menu when required (not that I required it myself!). The dishes are the same high standard (Thai fish cakes followed by a yellow fish curry) apart from, I have to say, the Thai fragrant rice which I suspect had been reheated and was rather dry and chewy. Leaving that aside, the restaurant retains its great ambience and I'd definitely eat here again.

Food - tasty and good portions. Service - friendly and efficient. Cocktails - quality. Palm Sugar Lounge - nice bar for post meal drinks. Would go back

When we arrived, we were seated pretty quickly but we sat with our menu's for 15 minutes, nobody came to ask if we wanted a drink. So we had to find someone as we were also ready to order our food.

We ordered our drinks and food...

Our drinks did not arrive but our starters did

We again had to call someone over to ask where our drinks were.

Drinks arrived...

My boyfriend had ordered a large glass of red wine.

The waiter brings a bottle over and tries to pour two glasses, my boyfriend said

Its just the one glass of red wine

He pours his wine....leaves the bottle on the table

We then had to go up to the bar and explain we had infact ordered a glass not a bottle to which they knocked it off the bill.

The food was lovely, could not fault it at all, was very happy with it but the service was not up to standard

We ordered the 2 couurse lunch, the sate was ok, but they forgot our drinks and never brought them till our main course

Have been to Chaophraya before loved it staff were very attentive so decided to take my husband yesterday .shouldn't have as we hadn't booked it wasn't busy but we were told to just sit +wait didn't even ask if we had booked,no offer to get us a drink, was going to leave when another member of staff came and took us upstairs to a table put two saver menu's on table +said she would be bk.Nice young man came over asked if we would like a drink so ordered bottle of wine +asked for proper menu,,Ordered food which I must say was delicious but was on table very quick ,older man behind bar let out a loud berp! Not what u want to hear when eating .have to say may be a long while before I go again bring back the attentive ,staff.

Food was good but it took over 1h30 mins for the main course to arrive - and I didn't have a starter so was pretty hungry. Nice location and beautiful restaurant but there is no excuse for such a long delay. Thai red curry had too much palm sugar and no basil leaves or bamboo shoots/Thai aubergine. Not very authentic but the flavour was ok. Not recommended for Thai's nor people lacking patience. A pity as it has potential.

Very disappointed been to Manchester several times and can't fault it. Went last night at 6pm hadn't booked but receptionists were lovely and gave us a table for 90 mins which was perfect. The waitress ( wish I got her name but she was wearing glasses) was very rude and miserable. Ordered starters which were ok, then for some reason they put the air conditioning on full blast it was freezing even the miserable waitress commented and said she would ask for it to be turned down which it wasn't so we put our coats on as did several other diners. After an hour having finished our starters and drinks the waitress came to say our meal was being made, everyone else who ordered after us had had their main courses and finished. Few minutes later it arrived, oh how disappointing it was. Cold and tasteless not a patch on Manchester looked like it had been thrown together and half of the ingredients missing ! If we hadn't been starving and in a hurry to get to a concert we would have complained. Won't be returning 👎

User

Over priced for the quantity / quality

Had much better food from Yee Rah which they own at a more reasonable price

Only bottled lager staff never offered to get from Palm Sugar so had to get my own leaving my wife at the table upstairs alone

Would I go back?

Doubt it !

Nice food.

Felt a little rushed or it was just impeccable fast food service.

Wished the music was representing Thailand and not British.

Staff were friendly.

Boyfriend ordered a Chang but got a Sangha.

I wanted lemonade with my shirt and got tonic.

Felt squashed too.

Food nothing special. Cocktails nice, but to be fair, you can go to a cocktail bar to get nice cocktails...

Went for a meal last night with my friend. I don’t get out much as I have 3 young children so it was a special meal out. Arrived about 5.20pm. Great start with delicious cocktails and sweetcorn cakes, but then we waited nearly 2 HOURS for our main.

Apparently this was because you had large tables in and the kitchen weren’t coping. But I had to get up and approach a waitress and ask for this information as she disappeared most of the time and then avoided eye contact the rest of the time!

I understand things like this happen and generally you’ll find most people are understanding but what I found really unprofessional was the fact no one told us there was going to be a delay and no one apologised for it! I would expect in these circumstances someone would come up and say there was going to be a delay and offer some crisps or a drink or something while we wait!!! It took me 15minutes to find someone to pay my bill!! We did get £18 taken off the bill and paid £20 each but even that was too much. The main didn’t have half the ingredients it said on the menu and after a 2 hour wait I was kinda expecting Michelin star!

I’m not one to complain normally as I prefer to praise and encourage but really this customer service was appalling. Just a really disappointing visit.

I emailed you also about this and have had no response.

We normally love it here so my mum booked it as a treat for my 30th Birthday on Thursday 31st May. The starters were lovely but 2 of the main courses were cold. When we sent them back the waitress was extremely rude and unapologetic. She continued to deliver poor service all night, not even a please or thankyou. When given the dessert menu, we were left waiting that long that we decided against placing an order even though we would have ordered 4 desserts. Throughout the night, the waiters continually came to our table with other people’s orders- I think there was confusion over the table numbers. My mum had also phoned that morning to confirm it was booked for a 30th and had maybe hoped for a birthday sparkler, something a different restaurant had done for us. The standards were extremely poor compared to normal and we won’t be in a hurry to return. Disappointing.

User

It took an eternity for our drinks to arrive and the waitress looked like boredom was about to take her life. The atmosphere was almost as lively as a mortuary and the cocktails had that much sugar in them that I've just booked a dental appointment.

Big disappointment going chaophraya in Liverpool one, lovely restaurant but food gone down hill big time. Everything micro waved should of stayed at home and bought a pot noodle.
