Young man served me and my dad on Friday dinner time, he was very polite and friendly.

I go to malton a lot as I love the town. First time in this bistro and it was great. Our food was hot, fresh and tasted lovely, I will definitely be back in here again.

Went here on Friday afternoon as our friends were treating us to afternoon tea as a 30 year wedding anniversary pressie

Well what a fantastic tea

A lovely, tasty, well presented platter of sandwiches was served to start with, along with a huge pot of tea, followed by a 3 tier cake stand with 4 portions of 5 different cakes: all homemade. More tea and then prosecco

We thoroughly recommend!!!!!

Went for a meal with my mum tonight and it was perfect. The burgers were good quality and perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed it.i will Definately be coming back.

We were lucky enough to go to the New Years eve dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic, the staff and Jackie and Rory were so welcoming and attentive, we felt like family. I don't particularly like going out New Years eve, but it was definitely the best I have ever had and couldn't recommend it more. A very big thank you to them all, 12 out of 10.

We ate here for Mothers Day yesterday. The food was amazing! Best meal out we've had in a very long time. Main courses were excellent and the desserts were to die for. An added extra was the lovely gesture of a free cupcake or cocktail for all the Mum's. Staff all very friendly and made my 6 month old feel very welcome. Will definitely be returning.

Needed somewhere for myself, my husband and 2 girls to eat on the way back from Leeds tonight. Hadn't booked anywhere as we didn't know what time we would be passing. Lady on the phone was lovely and said there would be table ready for us

Glad we decided to call in. Massive menu choice, something for EVERYONE regardless of dietary requirements.

Place was warm and welcoming, staff were friendly and attentive, food was delicious - chips were to die for! - and meals were reasonably priced.

Can't wait to go back when we have more time.

My first visit for food yesterday and I must say it was delicious. I visit Malton at least once a week and I will certainly be calling for more lunches. First class food and service.

Came back in February for my birthday. All of our party ordered fish and we weren’t disappointed. Food extremely hot and served with a smile. Lovely atmosphere as normal and lovely service. I’ll be back!!

Amazing... amazing!!! Booked surprise anniversary meal for parents. The girls were so helpfully through out the organisation. The girls on the night were brilliant couldn't be more helpful and service was spot on. The food couldn't fault it one bit. Everyone said how nice the food was.

Absolutely first class service, food and atmosphere! I had the all day breakfast and my daughter had the pulled pork southern fried chicken burger! Both were absolutely beautiful! Definitely will be going again!

Went for afternoon tea and was disappointed. Other afternoon teas I've had have been dainty sandwiches and little pieces of cake. Unfortunately the sandwiches were large. Half size would have been better. Presentation let it down. Was expecting home made cakes but most if not all were shop bought. Shame about the cakes have had home made cakes there before which were lovely. Service was good. Will go back as love it there but don't think I'll have afternoon tea.

I have visited Chapter One many times but Monday was a slight let down. Ordered 2 Rocky Road hot chocolates that firstly didn’t come with any rocky road, secondly were not hot and thirdly we were still charged for full price of £4.50!!! £4.50 for a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows that we had to ask to be re-made hot!!! The only reason I’m still giving 3 stars and not 1 was because the staff who re-made the chocolates hot apologised and was lovely. The woman who took the order and who we paid was useless. The food itself was of a great standard as normal; although there was a wait for food this was not a problem as we were advised from the start and the food was worth the wait - the platters are highly recommended as are the burgers from previous experience.

Came for tea with a group of friend, everyone else was happy with there food but unfortunately I wasn’t I ordered the chicken Cesar salad and it was swimming in mayonnaise and just wasn’t very tasty , to cheer me up I had a toffee crunch pie, mine came out later than everyone else’s and was rock solid.. I did tell the waiter and he did offer me something else. Sorry �
