Looe Saves The Day Festival

Wow, what a brilliant and unique place. Last nights entertainment, John Prescott Vocalist, was incredible, an amazing selection of songs that got the whole place buzzing. Food was perfect, I’d recommend the Chowder, well cooked and nicely presented. Love this place and can’t wait to return, especially if John Prescott is performing.

Words cannot really express how much I enjoyed this venue. The minute you stepped through the entrance the staircase led you to one of the most amazingly decorated venues I have ever come across. I felt myself constantly looking around every which way at all the objects and decorations. Me and my friend both had cocktails which were simply divine. Can definitely recommend the Murder on Mayflower cocktail. There was a live singer on the day we visited and she added to what was already a warm, positive ambience. We visited on 17th March which was a bitter cold night so the warm nature meant we were not cold for long at all.



The staff were wonderful and attentive and every single member contributed to making our evening pleasant and welcoming. Thanks guys it was definitely and awesome time. We arrived a little late for the food so will be going back to try out the food menu but if it's anything like the drinks and my experiences so far I know it will be fabulous.



I can't really describe how great this place is. You just have to go and try it out for yourselves. You won't be disappointed I can promise you that.

Fancy plate crap but good solid quality cooked food, the chef is obviously well trained , when a chef is that good it’s clear he doesn’t need to decorate a plate

The deco is amazing and really takes the experience to another level

Went to this cool venue yesterday evening, after the cinema, for the 241 steak deal. Extremely happy with the service, quality of steak and general ambience of the place. Can't recommend highly enough! It truly is one of Plymouth's best kept secrets! �

We were recommended by a friend to go who had been last week, We were not disappointed! This place is a real hidden gem, The service was great and the food was awesome. We both had Fillet steak which was cooked perfectly and how we asked.

Matt had Corned beef hash to start that was all cooked fresh and he loved it.

We both also had desert... the apple pie was delicious and even though I couldn't eat it all they popped it in a take away box for me!

We will be back and will recommend to anyone!

Me and my husband came last night and absolutely loved it. The entertainment was was great with a lovely atmosphere. Staff all happy and friendly and the food was delicious. Hubby had the mega ribs!! Amazing!

We will definitely be back again to see all the other singers.

I had my wedding here on Saturday, it was beautiful and the staff are so fantastic. I was extremely happy and very impressed with how they managed to serve my 42 guests with no hick ups. I would very much so recommend this venue for wedding receptions, its so lovely! Thank you Dan and gang! Xx

I cannot praise this place enough! Every member of staff were so lovely especially Jack, our waiter!

The food was beautiful and not 1 crumb was left...actually I may have mine sweeped other peoples left overs, it was that good.

We all really loved John Prescotts music and thoroughly enjoyed watching him swoon my mum whilst singing to her!

Great food and service. I had a vegan vegetable stackburger, full of flavour, and it was my first vegan meal , but it won't be the last. Gentle piano in the background, lovely surroundings and they have an amazing cocktail bar too. Highly recommended

Music could have been a bit more upbeat.

On the whole a good evening and would definitely recommend. All members of staff were very attentive

A birthday celebration for my daughter, have been to Charlie franks a few times and have never been disappointed. Had yet another amazing time. Food and service excellent,

Has to be the best place in plymouth for that special night out. ������. Cocktails are absolutely lush. �����.

Fab evening here. Great service and staff were knowledgeable and game for a laugh. Lovely food. The only improvement I can suggest is that it was extremely hot in the restaurant but it is unseasonably hot and obviously not much that could be done about this, perhaps more fans?

We went to Charlie Frank's for lunch on Wednesday 28th. When we arrived the restaurant was not busy with only 2 other tables occupied we placed an order of 2 scallops and 2 cod chips and mushy peas (the mushy peas are actually classed as an extra) after a 20 minute wait 1 portion of scallops arrived I sat there waiting for my friends to arrive but no you would think a vigilant waiter would ask why I wasn't eating eventually when the waiter bought our cocktails(absolutely beautiful but again painfully slow in the making) we enquired to the missing portion of scallops to be told we thought you only wanted one so I ate my cold scallops whilst my friend waited and ate alone .when the main course arrived didsapointed wasn't the word where was the amazing fish Charlie Frank's is known for the fish itself was so small and the chips were dry and warm albeit the fish was tasty just not enough of it we decided after being in there for nearly 2 hours to pay I was not offered a reduction for their mistake with the starters or the long wait so I did ask which was acknowledged and dealt with with little fuss over all myself and my friend were so didsapointed we were looking forward to this for ages but we will not be returning

No aircon in a restaurant even my daughter felt dizzy with the heat

Food and drinks nice but overpriced

Staff fabulous to work and smile through the heat whilst owner relaxing Mo fought with aircon on his holidays
