Charlie's Ark - Home Boarding for Cavalier and smaller

Charlie's Ark has been set up to provide your dog with a fun and exciting holiday of its own while you are away enjoying yours. The idea is to give your dog what they are used to at home and then some more!

Charlie's Ark has proved to be so popular that my good friend Linda (as seen on the Home page picture) has now also obtained a dog boarding licence in a bid not to let down any of our faithful regulars. Linda (Charlie's Ark II) will only be taking dogs that have already stayed at Charlie's Ark and have got on well with her two lovely Cavalier girls, Candy and Amber (as seen in the first picture on the Gallery page).

Whichever address your dog stays at (either Charlie's Ark or Charlie's Ark II) they will enjoy the thrills and companionship of the pack during the day as Linda and I walk the dogs together. If your dog stays with me they will be with Charllie (my loveable Cavalier, after whom the whole enterprise is named) and up to three other dogs overnight. If they stay with Linda they will be with Candy, Amber and Linda's long suffering husband Jon plus up to one other dog overnight.

Exercise can be anything from an hour a day to an epic adventure lasting several hours through fields, woods and brooks, depending on what you want for your friend. We are lucky enough to be able to step virtually straight into the countryside from the front door with routes both long and short in all directions (please see photo stories at www. facebook.com/charliesarkbelper). We can tailor the treks to whatever you feel is right for your dog, so please feel free to discuss this when we first meet.

Whichever approach you choose, know that when we arrive back home from our daily ramblings your dog will be in an environment as far removed from traditional kennel boarding as you can imagine - essentially for the time they are with us they will be a warmly welcomed member of our extended dog family with freedom of the lower floor of the house and extensive garden. .

We have found that dogs seem to thrive in this small pack scenario and seem to gel together as a real unit within the space of a single day. The dogs are with us for the whole day and wherever we go we move as a pack - nobody gets left behind when we go out walking.

We are both licenced with Amber Valley Borough Council and fully insured by Pet Business Insurance.
