We held a fundraiser party for our school at W5 and it was fantastic: everyone commented on the quality of the food and service. Our sea bass ceviche was so tasty and pretty and the chicken and couscous meal moist and delicious. The staff were awesome on the night and big thanks to Nefeli who ran the night so well. We would definitely look to running that event again.

User

Very good Sunday lunch and excellent service, attentive but not overbearing. And the birthday girl got her pudding on the house with a candle in it. Would recommend

User

The best Restaurant in Ealing and the staff are very good. The food is brilliant. I would recommend to all. You must try the cocktail. H

User

It was my first time going to Charlottes place. The service was good, the food is fantastic. Although we only had the blue cheese board and the chicken liver pate with a glass of vino.

It’s a little over priced and there a little stingy on the glass of wine, it was very small. The ambience and overall service was good and willl go back again.

User

Great place, good staff and amtophshere inside the bar

User

My first visit was for lunch yesterday, but it won't be my last! Gorgeous food (that risotto! Those beef cheeks! Oh-my-goodness, the mackerel! That dressing!) ... Thrilled that great wines available by-the-glass + delicious cocktails too (superb gin+it!!), and discovering your venue specialises in gin ... fantastic! Lastly, can't fault the staff. Even though we had a few people helping us here and there, the service was seamless, friendly and accommodating. Thank you! PS. Can I be naughty and add that I thought I was in a trendy corner of Soho, not Ealing? ;-)

User

Lovely cool and trendy place. Great for a relaxed catch up with friends. I had brunch which I thought was a bit expensive and felt it would have been better to be charged per head with a selection of food and drinks to enjoy.

I did try their COW vodka made from milk!! Mmmm

User

Food was great and generous portions. I also love the atmosphere and the bar area. The early dinner offer at £29.50 is good value.

User

Was very excited to go to charlottes w5 for the 4 of us on the £29 dinner menu.

Have to say I was slightly underwhelm with the food (bone marrow ok, but forgot the jus), terrine served with the crunchiest bread to test the teeth ever, mozzarella/aubergine was fantastic as was beets and goats curd.

Mains - ox cheek gravy totally overpowered the meat which was a real shame. Pan roasted vegetables were beautiful, but only starter portion. Pork belly was great, as was the bream.

Deserts - lemon posset, which should have been called a posset as lemon zing wasn't there, so pleasant but could and should have been so much more. Cheese board was ok apart from serving with shortcake biscuits. Bizarre chef selection in my opinion.

Beautiful interior, atmosphere and the welsh waiter was very attentive so we'd like to thank him for this, hence why we never removed the 10% service charge.

Hope you use this feedback in the right way to improve. Thank you

User

Location, decor, quality all fantastic but HUGELY let down by kitchen. We waited for 1.15hrs from ordering food to receive bing our plates. The restaurant was at around 30% capacity with up to 8 waiting staff which is bad enough in itself but watching a bigger party who arrived at the same time as us get their starters AND mains - not to mention pretty much finish their main before we got our food - was a little hard to take.

Don't plan for less than a 2 hour spend here. We would come back if only to gauge the service quality on another occasion. Hoping it is not the norm!!

User

I ate brunch there yesterday and while I enjoyed the food it wasn't perfect. Staff were nice but Service was a bit slow. They leave the door open so you need to wrap up and the food goes cold quickly. Coffee was too strong but they made me a new one. Bacon was American style which I personally don't like. Two eggs but only one tiny piece of toast.its slightly pretentious, but that's ok as long as the food tastes nice. I would like to try dinner one day to see if that compares and if they still leave the door open! I sat at a low table but they also have bar stool style seating around tables which I really don't like as I have sciatica and find them really uncomfortable . I will go back though to see how it is for lunch or evening meal.

User

Came for a birthday meal - although the service was very good, the food was overpriced and just 'average' . Simple food, sides are all extra! My son sent his steak back as it was overcooked - gave him a new one which was pretty much cold. Bread was ordered and they gave us 4 pieces for a table of 6. Lighting is so poor I watched several people get their phone's out to act as a torch.

Not sure what market Charlottes W5 is aiming for - but it not meet the needs of our mixed aged table. There are better places to eat out in ealing at that price!

User

We were looking forward to bringing our friends to W5 but I was left feeling embarrassed by my recommendation. Level of service was really disappointing when arriving to being seated to then being told our time is up and we must leave. Best practice in any good restaurant is to let your diners know what you unfortunately cant offer from the menu before you order however this isn't the case in W5. Sorry W5 you did not make my day as you claim you will, only disappointed.

User

Every time I come here with the hope I’ve been wrong about the food and I am always disappointed, the food has pretty much been a let down every time.

It’s annoying because it has the potential to be so good. It’s such a lovely in appearance and ambience, but for a non fine dining restaurant it is charging unnecessarily high prices for small amounts of mediocre food.

Granted, I am a vegetarian am aware that these dishes are usually just an afterthought to offer a token effort, but then don’t charge the same price as the comparable meat dishes with half of the amount of food.

Five small pieces of flavourless ravioli with four pieces of ‘roasted’ pumpkin for £15 as a main dish is pushing it. Our waiter was indifferent at best, we had to specifically ask for salt and pepper which, if the food tastes this bland, really needs to be on the table as a matter of routine.

My friends ordered some honey glazed parsnips as a side dish which turned out was not even a whole portion and more like unused leftovers that they were trying to

pass off as a side portion.

Charlotte’s needs to concentrate on the food

User

Visited Charlotte’s last night and was really disappointed.

Had the flat iron chicken with slaw. Chicken was full of gristle and slaw was just grated carrot with too much ginger. My friend had the pollock and was also unimpressed - lacked any interesting flavour.

The worst part of the meal was the dessert. I had the creme brûlée and it was vile. Dry, thick and stodgy - the antithesis of what a creme brûlée should be. Served with a heavy and unappetising slab of shortbread. My friend had the doughnuts - they were similarly dry, heavy and totally unappetising.

Totally underwhelmed, wouldn’t recommend to anyone else to visit and won’t visit again.

User

Very disappointing. Really looked forward to having a nice meal with family but was left waiting for our booked table being seated uncomfortably. Meals eventually arrived without the side dishes until we asked where they were ... would not recommend if your looking for a nice relaxed meal. All the apologies and reduced bill did not make up for the shameful service of a supposedly 5 star restaurant. Stay away.

User

Usually a pleasure but this visit was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. This venue is cute and works well for the location. Food was much better prior to the menu and serving change a few months ago. But away from memory lane... Change for change sake seems to be the order of the day! FOH Staff leave a lot to be desired. Fingers in food at the pass are not the chef only ones you would expect !

On the plus side waiting staff are super friendly, accommodating and the wifi is good. So one star because a restaurant should have more than two redeeming qualities...

User

This was our fourth and final visit here. Every time we have been the experience has been worse. Due to Charlotte's Place having to close for a while our booking was moved here (party of 7) and it was the worst experience we have had there yet. Three of the seven meals were cold (roast beef dinner - how can you get that wrong?!) and when asked to be reheated they came back equally cold and on cold plates. The waiter did his best in a bad situation and the manager handled it as best as was possible, agreeing there would be no charge, however this was a family afternoon out ruined as we had nowhere else to go at such short notice; people had travelled from the other side of the country for this. We will continue to visit Charlotte's Place when it reopens as their food and service are perfect. Stick to just cocktails, W5, as that's something you do do well.

User

Restaurant not busy but service was slow 1.5 hours after arriving no food on table & when it did come it was disappointing. Small price of chicken & oily broccoli, left the chicken & left more hungry than when I arrived
