Charm-Combined Hope And Aid Relief Mission Description

CHARM (Combined Hope and Aid Relief Mission)
Charity number: 1109155

We support a number of projects in Malawi including a tailoring school, a carpentry school, and a microloan project.

The tailoring project has recently been able to expand into its own premises in the centre of Mulanje and now trains people from across the surrounding area.

Both the tailoring project and carpentry project are teaching local people a trade, enabling them to either gain employment or start their own business with their new skills. The items the students make provide a range of reduced rate items for the community to purchase, increasing opportunity, competition, variety and boost overall moral. The profits from the sale of these items are ploughed back into the project to keep it running and expanding, creating self-sustaining projects once they are up and running. Please view our photo tab to see items that have been produced and sold.

The microloan project began in connection with Hope Missions and is centered around the towns of Selima and Mulanje in Malawi. The microloan project has a snowballing effect, as each loan attracts an interest rate and so each time a loan is paid back, more money goes into the pot to be re-invested into additional microloans.

We are currently fundraising to set up new projects including a Tinsmith and computer school.
