Very full and very happy. First night of our holiday in the village and thought we’d walk to the high street and check out the Fish Bar.
Firstly, It’s not a conventional layout compared to what we’re used to. You place your order at the “hatch” and then get given a receipt and order number.
We ordered 2 cod and 1 chips and I HAD to try the Calamari.
The young lady that served me was extremely polite and helpful. Got my ticket and waited in the seating area. It took maybe 20 minutes, which was fine, it’s all cooked fresh so it’s worth waiting for.
The cod was excellent, fresh with just a light batter that was extremely tasty. It wasn’t greasy at all even the chips were really fresh. Calamari was excellent too.
All in was £20ish so maybe slightly more pricey than we pay usually at home but we’re in a tourist place and it was 100% worth it (also cod is an expensive fish). We would go again if only to sample the fresh pizzas. Thanks guys.

Arrived this evening to be totally ignored by a teenage waitress with comedy eyebrows (quite startlingly large, even in this day of massive fake brows) for 35 minutes. My partner and I watched her seat two other families and proceed to take their orders without even glancing at us. Three other families left.
We noticed Heinz ketchup and Helmans mayo bottles which had been washed up until the labels were falling off, filled with catering stuff, totally unhygienic, so we agreed to leave and I went and asked if we could just take away some cider, to which she gave me the filthiest look and told me to go around the side. We just left.
The stupid part is we had read the reviews first-laughing at their incompetence-not sure why we expected anything better!! It's just fish n chips people. Takes minutes to cook. Come on, get your act together, in a tourist town like this get some competent staff. Holidaymakers need their dinner!!

Ps I certainly was not rude, she was rude!! Tears indeed, i meekly left after her rudeness!!

Love coming here when on holiday, been twice this time. Love their fish and chips and a great choice of menu for everyone 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Sorry only 2 stars food good but the wait for the takeaway is unbelievably long, over 30 mins for sausage and chips

I had the best piece of battered cod I've had in a very long time here a couple of weeks ago, at the end of a week long holiday in this beautiful part of Dorset. Skinless, light, crispy without excess grease. The chips were perfectly acceptable, chip shop chips served hot but it was the fish that gets the prize. A well run operation, busy with customers.

Lovely fish and chips, good choice of pizzas and great milkshakes! Really enjoyed this place, quite busy but got a table straight away. Excellent service and staff very pleasant.

Good fish and chips. Small is also a sizeable portion. Kid friendly menu with GF pizza options as well. Friendly staff, while clientele a mix of tourists and curious locals of anything different.
