Charter Table Table

We've been going to the charter for many years now, never disappointed with the food or service. Was chatting to my hubby about the steak love the rib eye, would love to see steak mozzarella on the menu � Thank you for another wonderful meal

We booked for 1.30pm for Christmas Lunch, Table ready, staff absolutely well organised and efficient all no doubt down to the manageress Danielle, food was piping hot and lovely, we were given time after our main course to sit before the sweet was presented to us. This has to be the best ever Christmas day lunch we have had at The Charter, Danielle and her staff should be high commended, we shall return.

Very much enjoyed this year's festive menu!! The staff were very friendly and helpful and whole place looked and felt very christmassy!

Very good menu and friendly staff, no waiting and good food, makes a nice change from the other chains boring menus and untrained staff.

The establishment is situated less than 3 minutes walk from my residence. The staff are very professional and at the same time friendly and caring. It has a beautifully constructed interior,with very tasteful decor and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Background music is pleasing without being interruptive, and it is a very pleasant place to be at any time of day or night.

Just had Xmas dinner it was excellent, great food, hot plates, hot food, plenty of helpings. Staff were very friendly and pleased to serve you. Will definitely go back the starter, main and sweet were all quality meals 10 out of 10 to all involved

Had a beautiful Lamb Rump and lemon trifle there last night. Food tasted great, service was swift and staff were all lovely. If I’m in Aylesbury again I’ll definitely be back for more �

Excellent service and meal..sadly a few items were off the extensive menu. That didn't detract from the whole evening's experience. We had a table for 11 in a nice separate open room. All seated around a square arrangement of tables so that we could all talk to one another. We have eaten there before and would go again. Our guests commented on the good value of the wine in particular.

Celebrated my mother's birthday with my 3 sister's brother in law and 5 children . Food was great and service was quicker than most places I have been . We spent 170£ between us and all had 3 course meal each with drinks . Excellent quality for little price . That's happy with the we have booked a table for boxing day to sit 14 �. Well team charter keep up the good work and see u soon .x

Very nice atmosphere and food was excellent. Very reasonably priced. Staff also very good. Would recommend it �

I really like the decor in here,there are nice private areas to eat too which is great as nothing worse than being on top of strangers when eating a meal. It is more expensive in here but that attracts a better clientele. If you want cheap and cheerful go to a Whetherspoons 😊

Food was good but we went as we had 40% off vouchers & was very disappointed at the fact that we could only use it for 6 people when we went as a large group of 15. Wouldn't even let us split tables to use 2 vouchers! Such a disappointment considering we as a group they received a lot of money from us!

We were going to go out for a lunch date at another restaurant when we had a leaflet through the door promising 40% off main meals. Good deal we thought so we went to Charter Table Table.



We had a lovely meal. I ordered through the lunch deal menu and my wife ordered through the main menu. Thinking this may invalidate the deal we thought to check with our server who said it was likely to be fine. Also the small print (see below) seemed to suggest it was fine as the affected print suggested it just needed to be a party of two or more. (No mention of everyone needing to order a main meal) The speed of service was very good and the meals were delicious. There was a small issue of my wife's drink not coming out properly but that was due to the drum of syrup likely running out. I've had that happen before at another restaurant, it happens so really not an issue overall.



The small print for the offer of "40% off main meals until Monday 5th March 2018" is as follows:



"Terms and Conditions for 40% off mains: 1: This voucher entitles the holder to 40% off main meals when dining off the main restaurant menu. Voucher must be presented at the beginning of your meal" (We did this but were advised to show at the end of the meal, AFTER we had made our selections and crucially, eaten them). "2: Only one one voucher per party is redeemable. Breakfast, Lunch Club and Evening Value set menus are excluded. Drinks will be charged at full price. 3: This offer is valid all day MONDAY-SUNDAY until 5th March 2018. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer. 5: Minimum party size of 2 adults, maximum party size of 6..." and so on. It does also note that the managers decision is final.



Now the above is relatively clear about when you can use this voucher, but it does not state that you cannot use it for 40% off ONE main meal. I went for a lunch deal and was not expecting to have 40% off too (That would be nice but not realistic). It states clearly that the minimum party size is 2 but it does not state that both parties need to have bought a main meal to qualify. (For example, if one person had a main meal and another did not and just had a starter does that mean the voucher is valid or invalid?)



However when it came to pay, our server reported that they had checked with the manager and stated that our voucher was not valid. We questioned it but ultimately we knew that nothing would come of it given the point 7 of the Ts & Css. As a result we paid the full amount but were not very happy considering we had specifically come to this restaurant instead of another due to the voucher. I would welcome any clarification from the restaurant itself as I feel that the voucher should have been honoured. Its a shame really, as i'm not sure if we would go back again soon as a result.



This review is a warning to other future customers to definitely check the voucher with your server in detail AND the Ts & Cs as it may not be what you think. On a positive note the speed of service and the quality of food was very good.

Menu choice and food quality is good, price very reasonable, but service sooooo slow today. Three hours from arriving to paying, no excuse for that speed.

My friends and I have been having Christmas get together at the charter for the last 5 year, tonight we went and had a fairly nice meal (although the main course was not very hot). The staff, however, were rude from the start to the end. Slow service, bad attitudes, followed by asking if we would like anymore drinks at the end of the meal and then 10 mins later asked to leave as they were closing.

We explained that we would like to finish the drinks we had just paid for and were told we could finish them in the bar. We then were stared at and felt intimidated the entire time by the bar staff until we left.

The toilets were unclean and blocked also.

Unfortunately it looks like we will have to find a new place for our Christmas get togethers (of which I organise several over the festive period).

Not what we wanted for our festive get together.

Very disappointed.

Went to this restaurant and the service was very poor plus they tried to rip us off with the bill charging us more than the lunch menu had stated.

When I questioned it the waitress was just blatantly rude!

The manager was no better and just seemed to believe what the waitress supposedly said.

I will not be eating there or any of the Whitbread restaurants as the CEO's PA was not interested in my complaint and just said what the useless Manager said at the restaurant.

Customer last here, not first!!

When I replied back in response, I heard nothing back!!

This is how much they value their customers.....NOT!!

Went last the 3rd of Nov had a bad experience as took ages for anyone to come and take our orders then when the starters came they were burnt one of our mains were sent bk as it was cold and the puddings were not good. The service from our waitress was not good as she was very rude, won't go back in a hurry �

Very nice meal with my wife.

Got a shock when the bill came £6.50 for a large glass of cheap wine.
