Chasewater Narrow Gauge Railway

About Chasewater Narrow Gauge Railway

Chasewater Narrow gauge railway is a sub group of chasewater railway dedicated to the restoration and running of a growing collection of industrial narrow gauge locos and stock.

Chasewater Narrow Gauge Railway Description

When the preserved chasewater railway was displaced by the construction of the M6 toll road in 2000, the opportunity was taken to construct a small narrow gauge line of 2' gauge as a representation of the smaller lines used in industry. A collection of locos and stock from industries as far ranging as the National Coal Board's underground operations to the munitions factories and bomb dumps of the armed forces was amassed with the intention of operating a passenger service using this historic equipment. This aim was achieved in early 2011 with the restoration of an ex-NCB man riding coach and armaments facility Hunslet diesel loco and an passed inspection form Her Majesty’s railway inspectorate.
