About Chefs Adopt A School

Chefs Adopt a School (CAAS) is a charity tasked with Food and Cookery education

Chefs Adopt A School Description

In 1990, the Academy of Culinary Arts founded the Chefs Adopt a School Trust in response to the severe lack of food knowledge prevalent in young people. Today there is a staff team of chefs who visit schools every day (mainly primary schools but we also work with secondary and SEN schools as well as Pupil Referral Units) and we also rely on members of the Academy of Culinary Arts who form an invaluable volunteer army and adopt a school (or two! ) tehmselves. Every year, CAAS reaches 21, 000 young people.

Chefs influence what farmers grow and how diners eat. Should restaurants and cafes do more to inspire us all about what organic means and how to eat more sustainably? #OrganicHour @chefneilforbes https://t.co/mFIAJk7vpI

Great piece about the work of @RobbieCanCook - good food for our fellow citizens, in a reliable and dignified way, not "poor food for poor people". This is where we need to get to. @right2fooduk https://t.co/WWFBeOoe2U

Currently, people in the least deprived areas of the country live around 20 years longer in good health than people in the most deprived areas. To tackle these inequalities we must give even more attention to those who are at greatest risk of poor health: https://t.co/1jTvsxi5Kp https://t.co/uDm81aeYz9
