We're hoping to stream the new Council Leader's speech live here, so please watch out for it. (The meeting starts at 7pm, but there are some ceremonial things happening first.)

*Demand a safer Chelmsford*
Gangs, drug-dealing and knife crime are on the rise. The Conservatives slashed Essex Police numbers.
... Liberal Democrats will invest in policing and anti-gang initiatives.
Chelmsford will be safer with the Liberal Democrats.
*Demand a greener Chelmsford*
The Conservatives are responsible for pollution, congestion and development that is not sustainable.
Liberal Democrats will invest in public transport, improve cycling facilities and deliver green energy plans.
Chelmsford will be greener with the Liberal Democrats.
*Demand a fairer Chelmsford*
Nearly 300 families are homeless in Chelmsford (nearly 1000 people); too many people sleep rough; young people and families struggle to afford a home.
Chelmsford under the Conservatives has failed to meet its target for affordable homes in 14 of the last 15 years, and it wastes £millions a year of taxpayers' money on housing benefit and woefully unsuitable temporary accommodation.
Liberal Democrats will invest in wrap-around services to cut rough sleeping; affordable housing; stronger communities + work to deliver high-skill jobs.
Chelmsford will be fairer with the Liberal Democrats.
