Hazard on Hudson-Odoi: "I think the guy was waiting to start a game in the Premier League but he is ready. You can see the way he is taking the ball, he is playing with a lot of confidence. He is still young and can improve of course, but yeah, he is already very good."

CHELSEA WILL MAKE REECE JAMES PART OF 1ST-TEAM SQUAD AFTER IMPRESSIVE WIGAN SPELL
Chelsea will promote Reece James into their 1st team squad next season regardless of their success in fighting off their looming transfer ban. The 19yrs-old has impressed on loan at Wigan Athletic this season&will be rewarded for his progress. Cesar Azpilicueta is the Blues' 1st choice RB but Evening Standard understand the Spaniard will come under pressure from the teenager come next season. ...Though Chelsea plan to fight the transfer ban for the next 2 windows, James will be promoted regardless of the outcome of the appeal process.
Among other factors, James will help the West Londoners fulfill the Premier League&Uefa's homegrown player quota of 8, with the likes of Danny Drinkwater&Gary Cahill likely to leave. After some encouraging displays during the opening half of the season, James had the chance to leave the DW Stadium for a new challenge. However, he opted to remain with the Latics, where he has made 37 appearances in the 2nd tier - earning him a place in the Championship Team of the Season for 2018-19.
Wigan boss Paul Cook has eulogised about the full-back all season&has revealed he is not just the best footballer at the club. "Reece is just an outstanding talent. "He’s probably also the best table tennis player in England...probably the best golfer too...he’s that kind of talent!. "I’m sure he will go on to have an outstanding football career,&we’re very lucky to have had him for this period to allow him to grow."
James was part of the England squad which scooped the Under-19 European Championship title in 2017 alongside Ryan Sessegnon&Mason Mount. Named Chelsea's academy player of the year in 2017-18, he has won the Under-18 Premier League&FA Trophy each on 2 occasions. Davide Zappacosta is expected to take his leave as a result, with a return to Serie A in the offing this summer.

CHELSEA 3-0 BRIGHTON: GIROUD, HAZARD AND LOFTUS-CHEEK ON TARGET IN BLUES CRUISE
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says he is "lucky" to have so many squad options as a new-look side cruised to Premier League victory over Brighton with 3 excellent goals. Olivier Giroud flicked home Callum Hudson-Odoi's cross before Eden Hazard curled home from the edge of the box from Ruben Loftus-Cheek's pass. Loftus-Cheek then scored an excellent 25-yard strike into the top corner to seal victo...ry.
All 3goals involved players who have played more minutes in the Europa League than the Premier League this season. "After 50 matches it's very difficult to play every 3days," Sarri told BBC. "We needed to change. We're lucky because Callum is doing very well. Loftus has no problem with his back for the 1st time this season. Giroud is in a good period." The Blues, who have won their past 10games against the Seagulls since 1967, move up to 5th in the league.
UNFAMILIAR PREMIER LEAGUE FACES STAKE THEIR CLAIMS Hudson-Odoi made his 1st Premier League start - having already won 2 caps for England -&showed quick feet to skip by Anthony Knockaert before rolling the ball across the box for Giroud to cleverly finish at the near post. Giroud, making his 1st league start of 2019, is the top scorer in this season's Europa League with 9. This was only his 2nd league goal. Sarri - who has long resisted calls from Chelsea fans to involve Hudson-Odoi more - now admits the 18yrs-old is ready to be a 1st-team regular.
"Callum played very well&defended very well," the manager said. "He has improved during the season a lot. He's ready to play 90mins in very important matches." Chelsea side were in control without scoring a 2nd until Hazard popped up. The Belgian, back in the starting line-up after being surprisingly rested vs Cardiff on Sunday, ran on to Loftus-Cheek's pass before cutting inside Lewis Dunk&scoring from 16 yards out. 3mins later roles were reversed when Hazard picked out England midfielder Loftus-Cheek who curled a beautiful effort home from long range.
Loftus-Cheek has scored 5 Premier League goals this season in only 2 starts&16 substitute appearances. The Blues - who have won 6 out of 8games in all competitions - are now only behind Arsenal&the Champions League places on goal difference. On this form, Sarri - who has been accused of tactical inflexibility all season - could struggle to justify dropping Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek&Giroud next week. Brighton face City in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final (17:30 BST) as they bid to reach their 1st final since 1983. Chelsea host West Ham in a Premier League derby next Monday at 20:00 BST.

Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante both start the game on the bench following their appearances for their nations during the international break. 'Hazard has played 50 matches this season and Kante 47,' explained Maurizio Sarri. 'They played for the national team Hazard 187 minutes and Kante for 175 minutes and so I think that it is time to rest.'
... It is the first time this season that Kante has not begun a Premier League match but Jorginho, a slight doubt leading up to this game following his international duty for Italy, has been passed fit to start. With him in midfield are Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic.
