Cherry Hinton Festival

About Cherry Hinton Festival

Cherry Hinton Festival is run entirely by local volunteers. Festival Week is a showcase for Cherry Hinton's wonderful facilities, activities, clubs and societies. Events include: - St Andrew's Church beer garden- 27th Cambridge Scouts duck race- Wildlife Trust Bat Walk- Little Cherries Pre-School Family Bingo- Spinney Primary School Bake Off- Local History Society Walk- Cherry Hinton Baptist Church Community Choir There are also many social groups for all ages. Festival Week aims to entertain, but also to help our community make connections. The emphasis is on inclusion and participation. Every other year the Cherry Hinton Festival Society plan, fundraise and produce Festival Day. Festival Day is our community celebration day with lots of chances to get involved - from performing in the Community Performance Arena or Music Stage, taking a stall, or stewarding. It really does require everyone in the community to pull together. Festival Day is unique because admission is free and ALL the entertainments are free for our visitors to enjoy. Again, the emphasis is on inclusion and participation - without worrying about economic circumstances. We are a small festival with big ideas and past Festival Days have included an art cannon, caving experience and 100 seat planetarium!
