Went here after the first place we went to was fully booked. As soon as we entered we knew it was our kind of place. Cosy wood burners and friendly staff. The food was excellent. Even the children get proper burgers on their menu, an adult one just shrink for kids.

Overall it was excellent and will go again before others hear about it and gets busy.

User

Met a friend for breakfast there yesterday, not been before but had heard good things and I wasn't disappointed, decor is really nice, friendly service and great food, I went for the full English, really tasty and have to say good value for money, I will be back!

User

I have been to this pub on numerous occasions. Every time I have visited there has been a great welcoming atmosphere with friendly bar staff and locals. The food on the menu is very good along with their selection of beverages. I have also been to the quiz night that takes place on a Monday evening many times as I am friends with the host. There are always questions to stretch the mind a bit which is what is needed and a good music round as well where sometimes myself and my team mates disagree with what we think the answer should be but regardless of that a good time is had by all.

User

Had a family birthday celebration and booked in advance so our table was waiting with candles lit and looked very inviting.

The food was good and we all left feeling full and not able to clear all our plates.

The staff were very friendly and on hand for drink refills and anything else we needed

We visited on recommendation and were not disappointed..will definitely be returning!

User

Food was delicious. Staff super friendly and fast

User

Fantastic food, lovely staff and a lovely place. Will go back soon.

User

Every visit here is fab- it's not quite our local as The Prince Albert is just round the corner from us, but there is no comparison- The Cherry Tree does fantastic food, service superb and atmosphere brilliant. The roast beef is one of the best I have had- so... tender. Shame it will close for 6 weeks in May but look forward to seeing the transformation afterwards.

User

Enjoyed a fabulous meal last night with friends. We haven't been since the renovation and was very pleasantly surprised. The greeting was very warm and welcoming, service was good and the food excellent. Presentation of the food was beautiful and served nice and hot. The menu was varied and offered some interesting specials. Red wine was decantered and water was provided without asking for it. A nice variety of gins on offer and selection of various tonics. All four of us had a different one! Will definitely be returning on a regular basis - this place deserves to do well. Thank you for a super evening.

Can not fault this place

Great night

Thanks for ordering our cab home last night

User

Been quite a few times while visiting my parents, every time the food has been excellent and the service has been to a high standard, it is my favourite place to go when back home

User

Went to The Cherry tree last night (22/03/18) couldn’t fault it. This was a first visit but it was recommended by friends we were in a party of 15 mixed ages. Food was excellent all of us served together, great service. Would definitely recommend and go back. Everyone agreed we all had a great night.

User

Meal out with 3 friends on Friday 10th Nov. Service was slow, our 3rd guest arrived late but wasn’t asked if she’d like a drink. The Roasted Shellfish didn’t come with any bread which would have finished the dish off. Nice venue but a bit disappointed, think we will have to try it again 👍🏽

User

I came to The Cherrytree for a friends birthday . As there was a group of us we decided to choose a Monday and join in with the quiz as well as eat food . The food is nice but very expensive .. £6.50 for a pudding is a bit steep . However the quiz is another story . We have been on quiz night before and the answers were difficult but on this ocasions they were ridiculous .. Pub quizs are supposed to be fun , not make you feel you are on Mastermind . It was very quiet and very few people were there . I think this could possibly be because the quiz is so hard .. I dont think i will bother coming again especially on a Monday .

User

First experience last night at the Cherry Tree and the food was excellent but definitely a few teething problems since re-opening which would make as consider going back. Opted for the Tuesday night lobster offer only to be told when choosing my starter that I couldn't have it as the offer only included 2 of the starters, this isn't clear on the menu and wasn't highlighted by the waitress. I opted then to keep with the starter I wanted and order a whole lobster but was told there were no whole lobsters, surely if you're serving half lobsters you can serve 2 halves to make a whole! Waiting staff friendly but didn't know anything about the menu including even the name of steak on the specials board which by the way we couldn't see where we were sitting and jug of water was served automatically with lemon and lime in it, not everyone likes citrus in their drink or in my case may be allergic.

User

Booked a table for 4 with friends who we've not seen for 3yrs. Booked table for 19.00hrs as wanted a good catch up with friends. Waitress was lovely, however food not brilliant. Ordered a spinach, mushroom and cherry tomato linguine which was actually spaghetti with about 2 cherry tomatoes and hardly any mushrooms in it, very bland. One of calves liver was raw in the middle. Finished our meal at about 20.45 and were about to order another round of drinks when we were told they needed our table in a couple of minutes. We still had some drinks left. Only place to sit was in 2 different areas either side of a busy kitchen door. Not good to try and have a conversation with friends when not sitting together. Definitely won't be going back and wouldn't recommend to anyone. Stick with the Dragon at Colgate, much nicer and you won't be asked to leave your table.

User

Went on the 9th of November for mine and my boyfriends anniversary, he especially took me here because he heard they had lobster, so we got the lobster and it was so disappointing I cannot stress it enough. For £20 obv you'll expect anything to melt in your mouth bare in mind you barely get a portion with lobster so you expect it to be succulent and enjoyable, well it was far from it, so chewy we could barely eat it seriously the biggest waste of money ever, we both have had lobster in Spain and it was banging so we wanted to get it again but it was absolutely disgusting bland chewy barely edible. I emailed them before leaving a review but they didn't even bother replying to me lol! Also service was so shit, barely got a smile of the waiter and we waited probably over 30 minutes each time for them to take our plates when we was done we definitely noticed it took ages bare in mind it was a Tuesday and there was barely anyone there. Not happy won't be going back

User

We used to love the Cherry Tree pub! We would tell our family and friends about how good their food was and were regular customers.

Yesterday we booked a table for 6 and were looking forward to a great meal out, as we hadn’t been back for around 18 months.

At first we were pleasantly surprised at the new refurbishment but our happy spirits soon diminished.

Here is a brief summary of our night at the Cherry Tree:

-Drinks arriving late, with one of our party not receiving his drink until after the food arrived.

-3 food orders arrived wrongly.

-1 plate of food was delayed so long after everyone else had received their order, which caused everyone else’s food to go cold.

-Service was below par.

We are so disappointed with the Cherry Tree, this will be our last visit to the establishment.

Bring back the old Cherry Tree, which had an excellent service, generous food servings to reflect a fair price and good quality food!

User

Shocking experience. Dreadful staff. Filthy dirty tables outside. Umbrellas just chucked in the ground. Food below average. Poorly presented. Cocked up our food order and no apology or attempt to correct it. Won’t go back.

User

My family took me here for Mother's Day and we were really disappointed with the meal and the service we received from the manager. The liver was raw and the lamb and beef roast dinners were undercooked. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told he was too busy cleaning the kitchen and if we had a problem to just email him. This is not the service you expect from any establishment or manager. We were very disappointed with the bad customer service as we are long standing customers and that is why we chose it for this special occasion.
