Cheshire West Governance Association (CWGA) is a voluntary, independent organisation established to support the work of governors, trustees and clerks in Cheshire West and Chester. We are affiliated to the National Governance Association. Purpose: Championing good governanceProvide networking opportunities for our membersComminicate to membersOur aims are to: 1. Champion good governanceContinued links and open dialogue with the Local Authority at Executive meetings and networking eventsCPD - coach and mentor our membersInfluence the local training programme, particularly with regards to providing financial knowledge and developing New Governors and Chairs of GovernorsProvide a link between the Schools' Forum and the Governors' ForumProvide a link with the Cheshire West Education Improvement BoardMaintain links with NGA2. Provide networking opportunities for membersOrganise termly governor networking eventsOrganise an annual conferenceMaintain affiliated links with the NGA3. Communicate to membersProduce a termly newsletterMaintain an up to date NGA micrositeSocial media presenceEncourage feedback from our membersAnnual Membership of the CWGA is open to all trust boards and local governing boards, in all categories of educational settings Cheshire West and Chester (CW& C).
