🐾 Our new group of puppies have been enjoying learning through play over the past couple of weeks. Kizzie, Milo, Fudge, Molly and their owners have been learning about health checks and first aid, as well as participating in a couple of training games with Cathy from Horton Dogs. This week our puppies will be learning about poisons and dental care 🦷!!

🐾🎓 Puppy Class 🎓🐾 Last night we welcomed 5 new puppies to our Puppy Class! We were also joined by Cathy from Horton Dogs to help with training and supervising the puppies to keep them playing and learning safely 😀 Last night we discussed the importance of Pet Insurance and of course, went through some Training 😀 Our superstars are Kizzie, Molly, Teddy, Milo & Fudge!

Poor little Luna came in last night and the Vet discovered an infected sinus tract in the fold of her vulva 😥. The small hole was investigated today whilst Luna had a sleep under sedation. The naughty grass seed had travelled very deep under the skin but was found and removed! You can see it next to Luna in the photo below as she recovered this afternoon 😴

WOW!! It is definitely grass seed season! 😮😖 This video is a brilliant demonstration on how a grass seed gets into the body, and so easily! Make sure you check your pet over after going outside - especially between their toes and in their ears. If your pet is shaking their head or licking their toes a lot or even not weight bearing, it would be a good idea to get him/her checked over quickly 😀

⚠️ After going outside, always check your cat or dog's coat ⚠️ Foxtail grass seeds ('darts') are an extremely common problem at this time of year. Grass seeds bury their way through the coat and into the skin causing painful injuries, which require quick removal before they track deeper. They are typically found between toes, teeth or in the ears, with long haired pets being the worst affected. 🐶 Remove these pesky seeds straight away 🐱

Sadly we have had a white and brown tabby, entire male cat with no means of identification, brought into us after being found in a bad way on Moor Lane. Unfortunately he could not be saved 😢 If you think you know who this cat could be, or who he belongs to, please call us on 0208 974 1197.

🐾 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PUPPIES 🐾 Luna, Molly and Ralph have taken part in our vet nurse lead Puppy Classes. Throughout the last 4 weeks our vet nurses held discussions on insurance, neutering, diets, first aid, dental care, vaccinations and parasite control. Our puppies also enjoyed training through play with Cathy, a dog trainer from Horton Dogs, who will also be joining us on future sessions!
Our next block of Puppy Classes starts on the 18th July. If you wish to enrole your puppy in our next class, please contact us on 0208 974 1197 to secure your place 😁

🌤️ Early morning and late evening walks are the best for your dog in this hot weather. ⚠️ Avoid mid-day sun and take a portable water bowl with you for fresh water 💦 Look out for signs of heat stroke and contact the Veterinary Surgery if you have any concerns 🙂 The Five Second Rule - Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you cannot hold it for 5 seconds your dog cannot walk on it.

🎓🐕🐾😁 EXCITING PUPPY CLASS NEWS 😁🐾🐕🎓 Cathy from Horton Dogs will be joining our next group of Puppy Classes in July. We are thrilled to have her skills and expertise on board, whilst our Vet Nurses talk to the group about insurance, dental care, nutrition, poisons, vaccinations etc! She will observe how our puppies interact and show us some fun games and training tips each week, with a FIFTH week added all to herself to help our new puppy owners 🐾😁 Call us on 0208 974 1197 to book your puppies place! All puppies must have their first vaccination, but do not need to be registered with us, so please SHARE for this fabulous opportunity 😁

**MONTHLY COVER PHOTO COMPETITION** How did you choose your pet's name? Did you pick a 'human' name? Is it funny to call out across a field? It isn't an easy task is it!? Share your pets photo and their name and your reasons behind the name! If you give consent for your photo to be used on our Facebook page, please share it in the comments section below and we will pick a winner!

A very lovely gift from a client to say Thank You for looking after their very poorly dog since Saturday 💖
He required intensive nursing care from the Nurses and Vets, but has gone home with a happy waggy tail today 🐾
